A "Game of Thrones"  Open in new Window. by Gaby Author Icon Review

Subject: This is a poetry contest and is currently closed. The images on the page are beautiful and the lighthouses at sunset are inspiring, just what a writer needs when they set out to write! It runs for an entire month, until the next prompt in posted. This contest has one judge, so you will get the same attention if you enter consecutively. Beware of the rules. You have forty lines to attract the judge and hold her attention. Even if the entries are low, you will still receive gift points just for entering, so it's definitely worth your while to enter. The layout of the page is warm and welcoming. All of the information is clearly defined. Examples are given in regard to posting in case a newer member of the community enters and is unsure how to post and in what format.

Overall Impression: Now for the good stuff. The first place award is very generous. Not only do you receive a pretty exclusive Lighthouses ribbon for your winning entry, but their exclusive merit badge as well. Second and third prizes are great too. Ribbons and merit badges abound. Even honorable mentions receive something. There is a catch, with that in order for all prizes to be given out, there needs to be a minimum of nine entries when the contest is running.
