My review is based on professional editing points. It is meant to be honest, encouraging, and respectful in accordance with WDC guidelines.
THE POEM
The poem was a look at the toll of battle.
WHAT I LIKED
The poet used a good economy of words to paint vivid pictures of battle and how it leaves its mark on society.
STRUCTURE
This is a free form 8 line poem with no rythme scheme.
MECHANICS
I did not spot any spelling/punctuation mistakes. If anything, I would suggest using WDC ML to make the font a little bigger.
DESCRIPTIONS
I liked: "Bewildered beasts, bolted blood bath," The poet uses alliteration all throughout the poem, with a focus on the "B." It seems to work with the word "battle" at the forefront.
PARTING THOUGHTS/SUGGESTIONS
The opening sets the stage for the poem and what to expect from it. Battle isn't pretty. The title suits the poem. A hard look at a facet of life that does more harm than good. The expression is hard, but appropriate for the poem.
