Hello Jacky Author Icon

What a curious little story. It almost feels as if this one was taken from real life. Or a version of real life.
To be honest, I am not sure how one can run over a tire inflation contraption. That's probably because the one we own is a solid brick that would make my car tip precariously if I tried to drive on it. That might be a hint at the car being a powerful off-road machine, or the driver being adamant about not even trying to understand the physics of a car going from level to tipping.
The closing quotation marks at the end of some paragraphs are grammatically speaking correct as far as I can tell, but they are not a very modern interpretation of that particular rule. Since the story reads like a narrative, I think the story could do without the opening and closing quotations for the main part of the story until "And then what happened."
