About This Newsletter

The contests and activities on this site are constantly changing! Almost every day there is something new and exciting to view and participate in. The ideas are endless. Some succeed, some manage to get along, while others, unfortunately, are left behind and forgotten. My goal as your Contest & Activity newsletter editor is to provide each of you with the tools it takes to create a great success.

The Contest/Activities Recipe Book


Welcome to the Writing.Com Contest/Activities Recipe Book! This unique recipe book includes various how-tos for all types of Writing.Com contest and activities. Every four weeks a new recipe will appear right in your mailbox, courtesy of Writing.Com! Each recipe includes:

         Ingredients
                   What you will need before starting the contest or activity
         Instructions
                   How to set up and run your contest or activity
         Cooking Time
                   Recommendations for deadlines depending on type
         Recommendations
                   Other comments and suggestions for running each contest or activity (Reader feedback encouraged)

As stated above, this Recipe Book is a work in progress. Please, if you have any recommendations for running individual types of contests and activities, I would love to hear them. If I use your comments in the newsletter, you will get credit (a.k.a. exposure!). It doesn't have to be something completely original, just something that will help make a contest or activity run better. For example: "I have found that have 3 or more judges can help. Sometimes, you have judges that have to drop out last minute, so have a few extra can be very helpful and less stressful." If you have recommendations, feel free to email me directly or use the feedback box provided at the bottom of each newsletter.
