Letter from the editor

June Proposal

When it comes to love, I’ve always viewed June as the month of weddings for couples in love. Perhaps it’s the combination of the rainy and summer seasons here in the Philippines that creates a delightful climate for such celebrations.

In other countries, June marks the beginning of summer, evoking beautiful imagery for couples exchanging vows.

However, before couples leap into the commitment of a lifetime, there is a significant stage that tests their compatibility: the wedding proposal.

A wedding proposal is a momentous occasion, and each couple has their own unique story. It can be thrilling, particularly if the woman is expecting it. Yet, it can also be painful for some, especially if the man is eager to propose but the woman is not yet ready to commit.

Here are some thoughts to consider when planning a proposal:

*Tackr* 1. Vision: Everyone has their dreams, especially concerning their future partner. It’s essential to envision whether the person you plan to propose to aligns with your vision for the future.

*Tackr* 2.Timing: Ask yourself if this is the right moment to propose. Are you both stable and ready to meet the needs of a lifelong partnership?

*Tackr* 3.Location: Choose the right place for the proposal. A setting that allows you both to focus on each other can enhance the likelihood of a positive response.

*Tackr* 4.Theme: Select an appropriate motif based on the woman’s preferences and personality. For instance, if she is conservative, a fine dinner in a lovely setting may be ideal. If she enjoys adventure, consider a more active proposal.

*Tackr* 5.Feelings: Be honest about your feelings. Are you proposing out of genuine love, or are there other motivations? Remember, a proposal is a significant experience, especially if it’s your first and potentially last.

But, always keep in mind that while it’s important to invest in the relationship, you should also reserve a little for yourself, ensuring you can stand proud no matter what will be the outcome or the decision of the one we are proposing.

There is one proposal I know of that promises not just a lifetime commitment but an eternal one. It’s a true love proposal from our faithful Savior. He sealed this promise at the cross, expressing His love and sincerity towards us as His bride. Ultimately, it is up to us to accept it. As we prepare to meet Him at the end of our earthly lives, we must ask ourselves: Are we ready to say to Him,
"Yes, I am".
