Sonnet: A little out there...dreaming, reaching, winning and waking where you want to be. |
When the Sun Rose Above Rainbow Skies And when the sun rose above rainbow skies, I was alone with ghosts who cried for me. Tears stung like winter whips the willow tree, weeping in the warm embrace of sunrise. With hands trembling past the eve’s goodbyes, I grasped Dark’s tendrils with a simple plea. Assure me always a last glimpse to she whose emerald eyes bay my worst nightmare’s lies. This I won from within the Night Hag’s brace, when the stars faded and the evening broke. Yet, with dawn’s torch rising my ire spurned, for naught could I find my love’s promised face. Until, under Angel’s breath I awoke, to find wrapped in my arms that which I yearned. - Christopher Harris ![]() |
