I do not know where to begin with this description. The time period is from 0 to now. Please don't ask how long that is. I am sure with certain clues, you will be able to figure that out.
I am writing this on my favorite old computer at home. I have a computer room that doubles as a retreat for a few of my pets when they want to be alone.
I will cover mostly current thoughts. I hope to add some pictures as I have seen in a blog. I think that to do this sharing will take a lot of work, but the pictures I have seen are well worth it.
Occasionally, I might review a flashback in mylife. I have times when I just roll that special even around in my mind until it has every possible facet examined. Usually this time is to try to figure out a "what if" scenario.
If some of my items have no zest to it feel free to say so. I think that after I have some a few trial runs, then the real me will be out for all of the world to see. Luck you! As the saying goes, "Come with me and the best is yet to be."

Interesting month!
Yes indeed this has been an interesting month. Not all of the events tickled my fancy or made me smile. Snd if I had to do this month all over, I would say , "No thank you."
Here are a few things.
1. The flood in Texas, my home state, left me devastated. All of the children, at Camp Mystic were faced with a terrible storm and flood that killed almost all of these beautiful children who were trying to make friends, enjoy the outdoors and learn more about religion they loved. Their deaths were unbelievable. The adults and camp counselors who were trying to save them were lost. It was tragic and heart-breaking as well. Blames poured out on everyone. And it might take years to really establish the critical factor. lBut as I think about it, I cannot blame but begin to develop an idea or plan on who to prevent this in the future. Note that campers, and residents of the area lost some loved ones as well.
They say Tesas strong but that can't bring back what and who were lost.
2. There was a fire and explosion in Rome that I did not hear about but this was bad as well.
3. Important figures or celebrities pass away. Ozzy Osbourne, Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Hulk Hogan were well known. They had their followers who are mourning and will honor them in their own way. Peace be with them all.
4. My sweet little niece, who is married now. Is very overdue for the birth of her first child. I worry because a first child is special. This young lady is well educated and participated in sports which should have made her strong to go all the way to a happy birth. The child, who is a girl, almost a month overdue. We all want the bests for her and her husband who would give anything to see both doing great on that special day. He will make a great father.
5. One of my neighbors is angry that I am feeding ducks that swim in the pond wow live around with about 15-20 other houses. The ducks mind their own business and just waddle on the sidewalks or swim in the pond. It is beautiful and relaxing to watch them swim. The neighbor is using a laser to frighten the ducks. She does not like any water fowl but chose to live at a place that has a lot of water. Go Figure.
I am sure that there are other tragedies or miserable things happening in this month alone. The saying "If you can't bend then you will break," I think I would like for July to hurry up and Go into August sooner than later.
Now the one thing I worry about the most is 4. My niece is family. And family must stick together and pray for each other. Family should not hold grudges or ideas of getting even. That is childish and non-productive. Family should only send positive thoughts with love. Even if someone had an argument a long time ago, that which was in the past, it should stay in the past. Bury it. Let it go. Find it in your heart to forgive. (I'm getting off track for this post. Sorry)
Maybe the doctor and my niece miscounted her days. All I want is to get a phone call that this little girl and her mother are fine and resting in the hospital. Their date to come home is a few days. Pictures will be sent later.
We love you both. Welcome to the family, Lily. Sleep tight in your crib at home soon. Bye! |

My favorite vacation was when I was a very young girl. It was a trip to Canada and Alaska that started with a train ride. We included my aunt and brother who lived with my aunt. And we enjoyed the scenery that consisted of mountains with snow on the top and cities that had tall buildings. We had fold down beds and rooms that were smaller than the one in my home.
But at the end of the trip to Canada, mother spotted a red spot on my leg that became bigger and looked inflamed. I had to lay on a seat or bed with a hot compress until it was gone. This was my first experience with a boil.
We saw many interesting things in Canada. What I liked was the totem poles. The figures looked real. The paint on the totem poles were vivid.
Next I liked the people who were nice to the family. They showed us some places to visit and take pictures.
My father was a medical officer in Alaska during World War II. He looked like he felt at home. He also wanted to take us on a cruise in an area but unfortunately one sank and that ended our tour via cruise boats.
The trip home was uneventful. It seemed faster than the trip to Canada and Alaska. I still enjoyed the train ride. And when we got home, my mother informed the family that she was going to have a baby. I asked her if she got it in a souvenir shop and she laughed and said, "No." My father replied, "We will talk about babies later." |

Disney has always been a creative force in entertainment. If you ever saw Walt Disney's little mouse, Mickey as Steamboat Willie, and then the cartoons of today, you will notice tha reason why children tuned in to watch his shows for many years. I used to watch the show on TV with kids who were Mouse-cateers who sang and acted (I think) in short stories. Some of the children are grown and unfortunately, gone. Annette was special.
The topic of the Disney World being good for the community it is in has pros and cons that are logical and worthy of consideration when people and their families plan their next vacation.
Pro: The wonderland does help the economy of that community by the visitors, not to mention the hotels stayed in during the trip.
The people going have fun. They forget troubles for a short time.
The place is wide open so the family walks which is good exercise
The place gives the kids examples of kinds of summertime jobs they could try to work in.
You could make friends from other states and countries.
Cons: It does cost money which means that the family has to budget or spend enough money to go there.
One could get injured on a ride.
One could have things stolen from their hotel or purses.
One could eat badly prepared food. and get food poisoning.
The place could be closed down due to bad weather, or mechanical problems.
A small child could get lost.
Their hotel is lousy, dirty or completely full. No rooms and your reservation never got placed.
Wow! that could be a major headache. But what to do? I hope you are good at solving problems.
I myself do not like uncertainty. I do need a break sometimes. But overall, as Dorothy said in the Wizard of OZ, "There's no place like home."
I'll stay at home. Sleep late, Read a good book or watch Goldie oldie! Visit relatives. And save my money for something I really want.
How about you?

Today is Thursday, July 17, 2025
This is a prompt from long ago. I will try to do better.
I am trying to do a little catch up for my Blog Circle of Friends. There are too many but then I will do my best to pick out the ones I think you might enjoy.
From June 19, 2025 Daly 3872
There were three lines and we had to pick one.
Dr. Seuss is a young person’s favorite. I read a few of these poems to students and was happy to see smiles and hear giggles.
But then I remembered that I had a poem almost like that.
SEUSS:
Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is your than you!
ME:
"Me!
I am me!
I know I’m me.
I’ve been me all my life.
I can’t be you.
because you are here
standing next to me.
I can play.
You can play.
And we can play together.
When I go home,
I’m just me.
But when I am playing with you,
it’s you and me,
playing together
as friends!"
From 1-20-2013. I had just started my poetry work and now see the wonder and fun it is to do, write and reread.
Who are you? I don’t know, but I would be happy to hear from you.
Who am I? Well, I’m just ME. Like a puzzle I am looked at from different positions and show you something different. It is like the sky. Each day is different. So enjoy your day whoever you are. But be you. |

Day 3885. July 3, 2025
Now that I know what has happened in my home state of Texas, I shudder to think what life would be like if I was in the Kerrville area during the flood that has happened.
Let me be clear, that I am so saddened beyond any picture my mind could create, that the place I have visited with school students could have been turned into a literal nightmare. (I do not know if the 'h' word would have been allowed.) The amount of rain that fell and flooded that area was from one of Steven King's novels. The scene of a night time emergency was like his novel. The screaming of young innocent children would stay in my memory without pause. The confusion of adults trying to interpret the alarms that were blaring could not be scripted. And the ensuing action was instinct for survival that did not result in a happy ending..
I went to church today. I still have one question in my mind. WHY? An answer some theologians would come up with is "The devil was busy." or "It was God's will". To me that is not an answer. Either one is an incredible copout. (Even though I have heard that one does not question God.)
There were alarm systems. There were adults there to supervise. The children were mostly girls who might have had this as their first camping trip from home. And no one, but NO ONE could guess there would be that much water. And unbelievably, more rain was predicted today.
Maybe the experts were keeping their eye on the storm Chantel at the east coast, to be more attention-worthy. The east coast has had problems with tropical storms. They are recovering from recent storms. And mainly the adults were keeping their eyes on weather reports and other warnings.
I heard that the owner of this place died trying to rescue some girls. Many first responders via heliocopters worked without rest to find just one more person. The community is trying to do anything to help. Other states are sending aid. Our President gave the Texas governor any requested help. Life depended on split second action not delays. And as of July 6, at 5:30 CST two more girls were plucked out of a tree and will sleep at home in their own beds within the next 24 hours.
What can I say about this? I am numb. I will never think anything is 'easy peasy.' Life is not always perfect. And when God calls, you cannot say "No."
I will see those smiling faces from pictures on TV, in my dreams or maybe nightmare. I pray for and then cry for those lost. And then I might tell someone, "That is not fair."
What do you think?

Day 3883 June 30
This year, July is different from any other year.
Our family, especially my brother are expecting a new addition to the members. We already know that the baby will be a girl. Her name should be Lily, which is a nod to her great grandfather who was a master gardener from England. He was one of the best when he came to America.
We have sent a gift of one of the best car seats for infants so she will be safe and travel in style. Both sides of her family tree are so excited that she will be able to have many things that will make her smile and coo when she sees them. This is little lady has a mother who has gone to school for a great education. Her father is intelligent as well.
But I want to add that I love our country and look forward to the Fourth of July. I enjoy the family gatherings. Since many members of my family served in the military, this is a chance to appreciate all of the time they served and the sacrifices they made. I am not into firecrackers but know that children love the noise and displays.
But lastly, I know that we all must be vigilant to problems and those who try to help us stay free and independent. (cue the national anthem). Many of my classmates are gone through their loss of life in wars or diseases. I miss them. And I hope that the next generation and the generation after that, will have it better.
As the song states, “God bless America.” |

Day 3839 May 17, 2025
Re: Memorial day
This day is to remember the men and women who gave our country a “blank check” when recruited to use as it needed. That may sound funny but that is how my brother expresses it.
My family does believe in honor and service for our country.
Four members gave that blank check and it was cashed for three of these members. My father was a doctor and was sent to Alaska for WW II. This was before it became a state so it is classified as foreign service. He came home and went into his practice.
My mother was a nurse. She wanted to serve abroad as did a friend of hers but the government found her foreign language important when the German prisoners of war were sent to the US during WW II.
My oldest brother had an eye accident and the recruiter decided that he was a good recruit but the accident may impair duties so he got an honorable discharge.
My other brother went to Vietnam and returned after being exposed to Agent Orange.
I am proud of my family’s response to duty. I need to say that other families had as many if not more to serve. Some families lost members as well.
So this day is one of praying for those lost in one way or another. I pray for those who never got a chance to return home. I also pray for peace for the world.
Can we survive another war?
Can we send family away and wait for someone to knock on our door?
Can we hope that our children will not have to go into battle and return the same as when they left?
I hear patriotic music. I see parades. I talk to veterans. But the most moving picture is of cemeteries of men or women, at attention in a coffin in a uniform, if they were lucky to come home at all. The ceremony in which a flag is folded and given with the words, “ Our grateful country…” It is usually the same. And movies always made that part very touching.
So on this day, is a combination of pride in my family and country, but sorrow for those lost and the families who are deep in sorrow. It is just one day. But it is one we should not forget. |

Day 3821 of April 29
What am I reading?
First I am reading all of the birthday cards and emails that I got for my birthday yesterday. Some are quite cute. Others include happy messages. I have thanked the family and friends and plan to keep these cards for a while. Who knows if there is an inspirational part that I can use as a prompt.
Next I am reading a book on my Pulitzer prize list that I talked about a while ago. I have not read from that book much but my goal is still to determine what makes a book popular and one that could be award winning special. That one is “His Family” by Ernest Poole. He was a journalist during the revolutionary Russia time and a war correspondent of WW I. This was about his family. Quite good actually. Goal: finish by the end of the year.
Third is Battlefield of the Mind, a devotional book by Joyce Meyer. It offers short, powerful messages for day to day reading. it offers strength and encouragement in the religious area.
Fourth is “The Cabin at the end of the Train” by Michael V. Ivanov. It helps a person how to pursue his/her dreams, especially in writing.
Fifth is ‘The Writer’s Digest’ magazine. It has tips, and authors’ explanation of things in writing. Once a year it offers websites that cover different topics. Beginners need all the help they can get. (Yes, that includes me!)
There are a few others like the newspaper. I have tried to pick up reading more instead of sitting in front of the TV or idiot box. I want to keep those lazy gray brain cells I have happy and active.
The material I read from depends on my mood. I do have extra things laying around that are something I am interested in. But if I sit and vegetate i know that my life would be not just boring but yucky.
So I am interested in seeing other members’ answer to this question. Reading really is the key to many things. But if one just sits around, we are brain-dead bound. And I am not trying to make fun of those in nursing homes because those people did have a life, long ago, once. I wish them well. |

Day 3807 April 14
April Danger
When April comes along, I yearn to see
how beautiful my sickly yard can be.
Such pink and yellows, red and whites
Can lead to flowerbeds that make an awesome sight.
I long to see a daffodil spread that makes me smile
I think the tulips could last a long, long while.
The Iris has a nice pretty little flower
Then maybe a foxglove could add some power
Lets go with a sweet alyssum that I see
It will be special if I let it be
But much to my dismay and shocking surprise
Some of these plants could lead to pet demise
And others could make a pet have a seizure
So no bad blooming plants will occupy my leisure.
I hope that spring flowers will go away
And I’ll just have some roses that I’ll see everyday.
Yes some plants can kill or have a seizure producing
effect. If you are unsure, check with the nursery person
or a good book. My pets are family and I will protect
them from bad stuff.

Day 3803 on April 10
Titanic History, from 1912
The RMS Titanic was one of the most lovely ships that had a bad ending. On board were two of the richest men and their wives from America. They could have bought their way onto the life boats with no after thought at all. Instead they chose to give up their place to someone poorer and with no hope of survival at all. John Jacob Astor IV, Isidor Straus owner of Macy’s and his wife, and George Dennick Wick founder of a Tube Company died on that day.
I read somewhere that there were several dogs on board for a dog show but some were in kennels. Those who got out tried to save their owners but perished in the freezing water. Only 3 smaller dogs survived. |
