A Nonet. Strength Under Control.

Form: Nonet

Betraying Eyes

Eyes betray your attempts at resolve.
Pain freefalls down your face in floods.
You mourn people and things lost.
Standing at attention,
your orders given,
you cry, "Yes Sir!"
Shoulders shake.
Salute.
War.


**Author's Note** A Nonet is a poem that has the syllables in each line decrease by 1, beginning with 9.
