A poem I'll never show my dad

I remember the day
you walked away
Said you’d be back
but you took your sack

Left Mum in tears
realising her fears
We were alone
without a bone

You went away to be
with a new family
They took your time
We did no crime

Father’s love fell
into an abyss-like well
All the crying and fighting
Filled the void by writing
