Five Ugly Things in Nature

Spiders are eight legged wonders that delicately balance on fragile webs like ballet dancers. They create intricate fine-tuned webs so that the minutest strumming can be sensed and homed in on. They fastidiously inspect their food before partaking in any form of dining. They keep the pest population down by choosing opportune locales for setting up house.

Mosquitoes are aerodynamically designed for short flights, moments of hovering, and quick skillful dives. They have to be quick to reach their target, refuel, and exit without receiving any damage to themselves. Their sheer multitudes in environmentally friendly conditions, is overwhelming and they can overwhelm the hardiest of foes. Mosquitoes are mischievous as the thrill seeker in them will acquire its target, effect an exquisite landing through harsh terrain, delicately dine unnoticed but they can’t resist the final pinch that warns of their presence and often makes their withdrawal even more challenging for those stalwart pilots.

Warthogs use their size and physical characteristics as advantageously as possible. Their bodies are solid and compact enabling them to endure both rough terrain and varied distances. They are extremely protective of their young and will boldly and fearlessly attack any foe, regardless of size. Their tusks enable them to forage for food, protect themselves and their offspring, and attract a mate. Their work ethics model dedication and perseverance.

Hyenas are swift and loping in gait. They readily collaborate with their fellow hyenas to coordinate complex hunting paths. They are merciful by not prolonging the inevitable demise of their prey. Hyenas have a melodic method of communication that articulates their needs and intentions to each other.

Monkeys have opposable thumbs like humankind. They have an innate sense of curiosity as well as a nurturing attitude that is revealed in their attentiveness to personal hygiene in themselves, their mate, and their young. They communicate in a chattering lingual pattern that easily expresses their needs and concerns. Monkeys are able to climb to great heights and move from branch to branch and even from tree to tree with the greatest of artistry not unlike a trapeze artist.
