"Who are you? Are you the hermit? Why are we naked." Tigerlily asked turning sideways in the bed and leaning against the wood plank walls.

"My name is Valon. I am a hermit. The one the townsfolk told you about. They do not like me just because I do not like to be touched and am uncomfortable around people. I only go into town to buy supplies and sell my carvings to the peddlers. They think I am evil. That I am going to kidnap their children. They think I will convince the children to ignore their rules, to do bad things. They let their children taunt me and throw things at me. They do not like me."

The Catgirl looked at Valon. Her orange and white cat ears twitched on the corners of her head. "And why are we naked, if you do not intend to hurt me, or have your way with me?"

"Our clothes were bloodstained and are drying after a good scrubbing with soap. You are very light. You are very interesting to study."

"Being once a cat I am an enigma. That is why I am searching for others like me. Have you seen any?"

"No.”

Noises outside the hovel brought their attention away from the pair of cubs. Shouts erupted.

"Let her go."

"Giver her up villain."

Let her go"

Tigerlily went to the door and flung it open. "He is no villain. He has healed me from claw marks from the mountain lion attack. He means no harm. You have made fools of yourselves hating him for imaginary viciousness you have created of him.
