 Musicology Anthology Entry |
The Musicology Anthology contest runs from1st April to 30th June.
This collection of short stories (under 2500 words each) is inspired by the 2018 album Attention Attention by the American rock band Shinedown. I love all of their albums, but this one is still on my Spotify rotation. It's a concept album (where all the songs feed into a theme/concept/story) based on a person overcoming the difficulties and negativities in their life to be "reborn" into a new person. Each chapter/story is inspired by the song lyrics/song titles from the album. They are also a collection of different key events/origin stories of the characters from my (WIP) novel. Each one is a standalone story that helps to define the central characters. There are links and nods to each other in many of them. The styles and tones are also varying to make the collection dynamic and fun. All of the songs from the album are covered off and the lyrics and word count are included in the drop notes for each story/song for reference. Enjoy!! |
