Should I make a story with Chase, Elaine, and Trace?

In the Let's Go path of Pokéflute Playtime, I give three different choices. There's Chase and Trace, Elaine and Trace, and an AU with Chase and Elaine (inspired by their appearance in Masters EX).

However, in a recent Poll ("Kanto's Second Trio" Open in new Window.) they were fighting for 1st place the entire time. This makes me wonder if I should make a second Let's Go AU using these three with the Kanto Starters, and no Partner Pikachu/Eevee?

If so, what should Trace's Pokémon be? Stronger against Chase's (like the Rivals of old), or weak against Chase's (like modern Rivals)?
