W As she pushed harder and harder against the thinning air, accelerating to greater and greater speeds, her mind-brain-link with Eragon shrunk to almost nothing. With another roar, she opened her mouth to let out a blast of red-hot flame that illuminated the black-night sky, diving under it at the last second to avoid being singed. She loved Eragon, she wouldn't trade him for anything in the world. But like the other two-legs, he could be incredibly annoying sometimes. She roared again, preparing to let out another blast of flame But this time, something roared back. With three strong flaps of her wings, she pulled to a halt. Twisting her head left and right Saphira searched for the source of the roar. All she could see was the tall-green-trees blanketing the dirt-grass-ground and the far-bright-stars sprinkling the black-hollow-sky. Then, out of the corner of her eye, she saw a far-bright-star blink out of view for just a moment, as if blocked by a night-dark-creature moving incredibly quickly. Eragon! she reached out with her mind, trying to reach him and sense the creature. For a moment she could feel a mind she didn't recognize, but slipped out of her grasp like a fish when she tried to close in on it. What? Rider-Eragon exclaimed Quicker if I show you. she played back her memories of the last few minutes. What is it? he asked, his confusion clear.
