My rambling thoughts on peace and violence.

To truly be a person who loves peace, one must strive to master the skills to accomplish three achievements:

First, one must learn how to not throw the first punch, for the one who resorts to violence without violent provocation will never know peace, too obsessed with being violent to prove strength to see beyond to a more secure future.

Second, one must learn to avoid that first punch when it is thrown, for if you cannot, you will not survive to know peace, and if you cannot survive, there will be no peace.

And finally, one must gather the skills, knowledge and will to throw the final punch in any violent confrontation, for without the ability to end violent acts, you will never be able to know peace, for you will be assaulted by those who do not care for peace, seeing you as an easy target for their weak minds.

There will always be those who seek a violent path, because it is the easy path. By gathering the skills, knowledge and will to be capable of choosing violent acts, you are not summoning violence, but instead, gain a better understanding of peace and a greater appreciation for it.

Deny those who seek violence an easy path, and you will ensure peace.

Violence is part of nature. To deny that is folly itself. By understanding violence, we gain a better understanding of ourselves and a better appreciation for the cost of violence, and the cost of peace.

No nation has ever known peace without it's citizens also being capable of great violence. This does not mean the citizens seek violence. It means they understand the cost of peace is readiness should violence be brought to them.

The horns, strength and size of those animals that each only plants, who do not seek out violence, are not there simply to impress. They are a warning to those predators who seek to prey upon them. To strip any person of the capability to do violent acts, to forbid them that skill and knowledge, would be no different than striping the horns, claws and mass of an animal by staking it out for any predator to kill.

Only those who are capable of great violence are truly capable of living peacefully, because only they are truly capably of choosing peace, while others are simply harmless
