100 words Drabble

The bell above the salon door rang as a young woman stepped in.
“Are you still open?” she asked the stylist, her voice was edged with hope.
“I’m just closing, love. It’s been a long day.”
The hairdresser studied her long, flowing, dark hair, already imagining scissors gliding through it. “I can fit you in tomorrow,though.”
The girl’s face clouded with disappointment.
“Come on then,” the stylist sighed, motioning her over. “How much would you like me to take off?”
“All of it.”
As the tresses fell like shadows to the floor, the girl whispered, “Now I’m no longer his.”
