Using science fiction as the mainstay, the essays cover a variety of topics, Of particular interest are more than a dozen autobiographical pieces (most of the other articles also contain a personal anecdote). Other areas covered include "Women and Science Fiction," "Plagiarism," "Pseudonyms," "Magic," "Magazine Covers" and the slush pile. Asimov is never less than his usual engaging, informative self. The range and brevity of the pieces make this a book worth reading.
