I’ve been trying to lose fat and get fit for a long time. This will be my blog about my fitness journey!
When a lot of people go from extremely fat to healthy and fit, they usually leave a lot out of their story. For instance, in online articles someone might have one paragraph describing when they were 300 pounds and sneaking fast food on their way home before eating a regular dinner with their family, then in the next paragraph they’re out running 5K’s and 10K’s.
I want to show the fitness journey from beginning to end, with a lot of details and the philosophical outlook I’ve come up with on my own to guide me on my fitness journey. Hopefully, my experience can help others.
I don't have your will-power or fortitude now. I'm a bit older than you with physical ailments that keep me from doing much. Recent Back Surgery should help, if it does, I will take your approach. I'm 'only' at 230 right now, I'd love to get to an even 200, maybe 190. Like you it seems, I love snacks too much. We'll see what the future holds for all of us.
When I lived in a condo 2-3 years ago in Thailand, I'd exercise every morning and keep track of it in a booklet with minimum and maximum goals. Don't do that when I'm in Montana or when I'm traveling. That said, I seem to naturally lose weight when traveling. I'll be back in Montana next week.
I can't tell you the best (if any exists) way to lose weight, but I can tell you I support your efforts.
I help my wife on her personal efforts to lose about 20 pounds--she's been trying since my birthday, 14 Aug with a goal by our Anniversary, 27 Nov. It's slow going but she's lost ten pounds even after a 10-day cruise.
It sounds like you're on the right track. Keep it up!
i like your attitude my friend. I am now 175 pounds 6 feet 1 inch and age 69. i too try to eat healthy as I am pre-diabetic. I also go for a three mile walk every other day and hike up and down 17 stories in my apartment building twice a day and do yoga every morning as well
I hope you have great success. Part of this challenge is to keep going and adjust things as needed. If something doesn't go as planned, consider it practice and keep going.
