WELCOME TO: GEMINI RISING ![]() UPDATED INTRO 30 JUNE 2025: Just a little about me. I've been married for 33 years this past NOV and currently live in Southern California, but I grew up in New Hampshire. I've got 2 boys who are young adults. I work as a 911 dispatcher for LAPD. I enjoy my job a lot. Still. If you can believe that. I love to write. Thankfully both of my boys achieved Eagle Scout. My Scouting days are over and I'm back to focusing on my writing. I like to get out in nature, drink coffee and watch football. Here's a little bio about my zodiac. GEMINI: Gemini, the sign of the Twins, is dual-natured, elusive, complex and contradictory. On the one hand it produces the virtue of versatility, and on the other the vices of two-facedness and flightiness. The sign is linked with Mercury, the planet of childhood and youth, and its subjects tend to have the graces and faults of the young. When they are good, they are very attractive; when they are bad they are more the worse for being the charmers they are. Like children they are lively, and happy, if circumstances are right for them, or egocentric, imaginative and restless. Their good qualities are attractive and come easily to them. They are affectionate, courteous, kind, generous, and thoughtful towards the poor and suffering - provided none of the activities resulting from expressing these traits interferes too greatly with their own lives and comforts. Geminians can be successful in many walks of life though their general characteristics tend to make them unreliable. They are often skilled manipulators of language, in speech and writing, and may be: debaters, diplomats (though in politics they are more interested in theory than practice), orators, preachers (brilliant rather than profound), teachers, authors, poets, journalists, or lawyers. | I had a nice visit with friends last night. One of my co-workers retired last year in August and moved to Tennessee. Another one retired in May 2024, but stayed local. She got a good working at the local movie theatre 2 days a week - just to stay active. The other friend is still working at the dispatcher center, but intends to retire next year. Me? I've got about 16 months until retirement. My Tennessee friend, took a deferment on pay and won't start getting paid until next year when she hits 55. In fact, I know at least 3 co-workers who retired who took the deferment. Honestly, I think that's something you have to evaluate when considering it. They were just ready to retire. Our job is a lot of stress and sometimes you just can't go the full 25 or 30 years. We went to a local Mexican restaurant - Las Rocas. My Tennessee friend was watching the Tiger/Mariners game on the TV. We had a nice dinner. A big part of the conversation was trying to keep up with menopause. My Tennessee friend is doing great. She's almost 55 and still gets "Fred." Fred me and my local movie theatre friend a couple of years ago. We talked about HRT, weight loss - it's something I really need to work on, aches and pains in the joints, taking supplements, etc. I started a liver detox because I figure my liver wouldn't mind and I started taking something I hope will reduce cortisol. We'll see. It's not easy aging. I think we have to learn and research every phase of our lives to live the best ones we can live. I also think being physically active helps as menopause approaches/begins/ends because the muscles and joints need the activity. I had a house Tostada, nibbled on some nachos and drank 2 margaritas. Any thoughts on aging? Love to hear them! |
