I agree we are definitely pack creatures. I've gone a week totally alone when I lived in Maine but by the 7th day, I was packing my camping stuff and heading back to people. I'll admit the first 3-4 days it was incredible being one with nature, watching the chipmunks and the deer. I took my kayak out on the lake and took lots of pictures.
I feel like the perimeter with my sons all the time. Thankfully, we reside with our daughter so we do a lot together. Other than deviled eggs and a spiral ham we don't do much for Easter, the granddaughter is 12 and over the Easter bunny. She does enjoy having jelly beans and chocolate. We do generally go for a walk together which is usually at Red Rock Canyon, it's so pretty.
I think many of us harden our hearts after being betrayed, I know I did. It took a long time for me to trust Vic and to fall in love again. Sadly, there are times I'm still uneasy .
Every year despite the book about the deaths that occur each year climbing people pay thousands of dollars to climb Mt. Everest. If you had the money would you try or not? What do you think the fascination is with climbing?
I don’t, and never have had the ability to climb a mountain. Yet I can understand the motives of those who can climb. I’ve never been afraid of heights. I love the exhilarating feeling of being high up off the ground. The air is different, fresher, cleaner.
My dream would to fly like a bird and the nearest I ever got to that was a hot air balloon flight. We went through the clouds and flew in the bright blue sky, the sun shining down on us. I would still like to paraglide but it’s looking less likely now.
Even though I love heights I hate flying in an aircraft because I’m claustrophobic and have a fear of being trapped anywhere. Tunnels, caves and enclosed spaces, I avoid at any cost.
