Well, it looks like Charles 🐾 has officially started a trend of sharing your desk setup. I'm loving seeing everyone's writing stations. Here's mine. I apologize that it's so pixelated you can't really see any of the details. Everyone else's images seem to look fine, so I'm not sure why mine looks so poor resolution.

My current desk setup, as of July 2025.

Please observe, if you can:

1. Comfy rolling chair for spinning my wheels.
2. Kinje under the desk, for moral support.
3. Laptop with WdC open.
4. Fake plant on the wall that's doing great.
5. Real plant on the desk that's not doing so great, but still alive.
6. Glass creation behind the planter that I actually made myself at a glass fusing class (hard to see).
7. Degree on the wall to remind myself that I'm better than everyone else.
8. Whiteboard for temporary thoughts and quick maths.
9. Lamp that looks cool but has never been turned on or used.
10. Trash can for all the writing drafts that don't work out.

Mostly, I'm posting this now because I'll be moving the next month or so and this setup will look completely different.

I have several feline co-authors who give their support and sometimes require me to take a break and give them my undivided attention.
Thank you for the tour!

I especially love #4, #5, and #7. lol

Good luck with your move.

Very nice!
On Saturday, my dad informed me that my Granny passed away. She was suffering with dementia and her condition went downhill after my grampa passed and could no longer care for her. She was a great and strong woman, and I have many fond memories traveling through Europe with both of them.

This month's lyric prompt is dedicated to my late Granny D.

Of course, this was the day before a big presentation / interview for a great opportunity.
But the show must go on. And go on, it did.

I crushed it, as the kids say.

Time stops for no one and nothing.

June has been quite a month... the highest highs and lowest lows. Big life changes the last few days.
But that's an update for another day.

I submitted one but I despised the other song. Next month begins tomorrow. *Bigsmile*
Kåre เลียม Enga Author Icon - Despised is a strong word. Well, they aren't all to everyone's tastes. I'm open to feedback. If anyone else mentions that they don't like that one, I'll steer away from similar artists and songs for this challenge.
Anni Pon Author Icon - I rarely feel so strong an aversion. When the message, the music or a grating voice leave me with nothing left to say... better to say nothing. Music appreciation is definitely personal! I really liked the other song.
Rejoice! A timely new writing prompt is live over at:

Well, all prizes have been sent out for "The One-Line Lyric ChallengeOpen in new Window. now.
Thanks again to all those who've entered or supported the challenge the last few months.

And a big thank you to my friend Anonymous, who made a generous donation to the challenge! I am actually considering opening up a c-note shop to support this challenge in the future, if anyone would be interested in that?

8 entries: this means you are doing something write right. Remember how it felt trying to get this challenge going? It took time. It is valued.
Kåre เลียม Enga Author Icon - Thanks Kare! It was a bit hard to get it off the ground, but it's picked up some steam lately. So much steam, in fact, that I may need to find a way to help fund the challenge. A good problem to have!

I recommend this challenge. I don't think I've missed a prompt for months, and they've opened up genres I'm not as comfortable with.

Have a go!
Maybe I actually wrote something.

Lyric Prompt: "Spider WebOpen in new Window.

Just a quick note that I changed the previous lyric prompt to make first bit optional. I think the wording might be too limiting otherwise. If you still want to include the whole line, or already submitted an entry, that's fine. This just makes it a bit more flexible and easier to work with.

You're allowed to edit your entry at any time, but whatever version I see at the end of the month is the version that will be reviewed.

This challenge has really taken off lately. Last month was the most entries I've ever gotten.
It may take me a day or two to get through them.

A big thank you to everyone who entered!

Your prizes will be coming.

Something of an update.

You might have noticed that I started "The BradburyOpen in new Window. and posted a single short story... and nothing since.
I am now 17 weeks behind. Maybe 18?

The truth is, I am having a hard time. The world is awful, my country is imploding, my life is at a complete standstill and I'm a couple of months away from not being able to pay rent. I'm in the middle of the most difficult life transition period I've ever been though, with no idea how long it will last. And I'm not the only one.

I should have a lot to say. I don't.
So forgive me if writing and creativity isn't at the top of my priorities.

I will continue to run "The One-Line Lyric ChallengeOpen in new Window. for as long as I'm able, but I wouldn't expect much else.

Ouch... my nerves are a bit sensitive this morning and "No Gringo" really hits me. I wasn't familiar with this protest song. Now I am.
Really recommend this. So good to spread writing wings.
