| Drove the family all the way to Spokane Washington, and here I am on my 3rd hour in Auntie's bookstore. 😂 Some things don't change. |
| Gravedigger Dave - buy each kid a book and I've got another 2hrs before someone says they're bored or hungry. 😁 |
| The recent poetry newsletter from Fyn-dragon challenged us to write in a manner that captures the essence of an animal. The feel, the movement, the weight. Perhaps you were inspired to go beyond and write about the swaying movements of a tree in the wind, or the wisp of a cloud on a hot summer day? I'd love to read what you felt inspired to write... that is, if you rose to the challenge! ;)

| Anyone here good with writing music? This is my second song and I think it's good. Thoughts? It's a tavern song for the weird western type stories I've written.
 |
| Another day, another several hours doing something productive instead of working! ;) Here's a darker story - the written account of a knight commander after their battle with a Lich-King. There's consequence to every choice, intended or not. What future unfurls when one's wish for release from personal torment affects the very fabric of the world?

| Anyone see a dense fog settle over the road below you as you drive down a mountain pass and watch the cars ahead of you just get swallowed up - gloop! - into that misty veil? Ever had your mind go wild with all the possible things that may be hidden along that foggy road? Oaks and Walnuts and Maples peeking their limbs out, like fingers pressed against a glass. It's no longer the commute to work, it's now the mythical place between your dreams, and the held breath before the cannon fire of an ancient battle ground! Right? You've all experienced that before? It's not just me?! :D

| Had a latin phrase come to me today after reading some sci-fi stuff. Next thing I knew a sonnet was forming in my mind to fit the phrase. Through struggle we reach God, through God we reach the stars.
I imagined these words as a family motto or slogan, and then followed that thread to this moment. Hope you enjoy! |
| OMG... I'd hate the competition, but Brian needs as many people to join as he can, and quite honestly I think what you've written is perfect for
 |
| Amethyst SkellyBones Angel - I had no idea this contest existed! I will definitely enter it. May need to edit some as I go, today's upload is just a rough draft. |
| I sat down to draft my second installment to Ballads for Bullets and it just kept going! This story is a weird western fantasy from the point of view of a young man named Thomas, attempting to prove himself and begin his own journey. He signs on as a caravan guard, doing work his father taught him as a boy. Thomas is very quickly pulled in over his head and must fight to survive with the help of a pale stranger.
This is a draft and quite rough. It is a continuation of story elements, themes, and some characters from The Wounded knight (also recently updated!) and any feedback is, as always, GREATLY appreciated! Thanks and Write on! (I may have to just create a book soon and keep all this organized) |
| I’ve updated the opening of The Wounded Knight to hopefully improve clarity in this short weird western. Let me know if it works better with or without the additional content. A tilde (~) separates the opening paragraphs from the original story. I’m new to short stories so there’s plenty of trial and error at the moment! 😬😅
 As always, write on! |
