I'm trying to think of ways to make my home office a good space to also do some fun writing so that I don't have to spend so much on taking a writing retreat at a hotel every year. Aside from having an enormous white board and a hanging folder system for notes, printouts, and anything I need for my various works in progress, I also have a sitting/standing desk and a minifridge in there for my work (waters and bottled tea, mostly. What else might be helpful? |
I don't see a lot of community posts on here anymore besides ads for contests and events. Did everyone move over to the WDC discord? |

Are you looking at your personal newsfeed or the community newsfeed? The personal newsfeed is the default view and it only shows people that you've favorited or fanned. If you're finding the newsfeed a little quiet, you can always favorite/fan new authors or switch to the community newsfeed view. There's definitely a lot of contests and activities being promoted, but also plenty of people posting other comments, links to blog entries they've made, etc. The old Writing.com Discord is gone. I'm not aware of a currently active one that's open to the entire community, unless people have started a new one that I don't know about... |

Your workspace can be improved... but it's still a "work" space. Consider that you may need to get out not stay in.
The hotel has benefits like solitude and free food at breakfast and dinner, but at $150-ish per night before tax, I figured it was worth exploring other alternatives.
