I want to thank those individuals who showed kindness and respect during my stay here on WDC. While I can say with certainty I didn't have any friends, I did have acquaintances. That wasn't because I didn't try; it just wasn't in the cards. I learned many things while I was here—many, many skillful writing traits and qualities. I read stories, poems, and articles that taught me unique styles and methods I hadn't seen before—all positive learning opportunities. When I entered a contest or just added a story to my portfolio, and someone took valuable time to critique it, I received helpful feedback. I discovered ideas and thoughts I hadn't considered or, better yet, reconsidered something I previously wrote. I would always thank them and try to give them more than usual for their time and thoughtful words. Conversely, I did have one, and only one, poor experience during my tenure here. I requested a review from someone who came highly recommended. I followed all the proper etiquette rules, including "please" and "thank you," and I appreciated their time and effort, which I received in their response: a waste of their time. My writing had been pasted to a Grammarly worksheet, so why did I even try? Please do not respond to this message, as my account is closed. I am not renewing my membership and will not be checking in any longer. Best to all. Write on! John |
Is it possible to delete large sections in your email without going through every email, line by line? Thank you. |
You can do a "select all" at the top of the page. I usually do a search for terms like "support" or "achievement" to eliminate non personal messages. |

The "Select All" option is a powerful alternative to individual selection for deletion. But it has to be used with caution - be sure you don't need any of the emails that are going. The other thing to know is that it doesn't actually "delete all." It deletes everything on the page you have opened. So it deletes pages rather than "all." |

This is rated 18+. While it does not explicitly address slavery and its conditions, it serves as the backdrop of the story. I have rated the story accordingly. |

Trying a new poetic style: Epigram Epigram is a rhetorical device that is a memorable, brief, interesting, and surprising satirical statement. It originated from the Greek word epigramma, which means “inscription,” or “to inscribe.” Often ingenious or witty statements are considered as epigrams, |
Today was Day One of Tiff's chemotherapy, which lasted nine and a half hours. Her next session is on May 9th for another epic round. After seventeen days, her hair begins falling out. I beat her to it and shaved my hair off this past weekend. The doctor advised that she continue this for six to seven months, do more testing, and then begin again. She is my Hero. |
Time in a Bottle Song by Jim Croce If I could save time in a bottle The first thing that I'd like to do Is to save every day 'til eternity passes away Just to spend them with you If I could make days last forever If words could make wishes come true I'd save every day like a treasure, and then Again, I would spend them with you But there never seems to be enough time To do the things you want to do once you find them I've looked around enough to know That you're the one I want to go through time with If I had a box just for wishes And dreams that had never come true The box would be empty Except for the memory of how they were answered by you But there never seems to be enough time To do the things you want to do once you find them I've looked around enough to know That you're the one I want to go through time with My heart is broken right now. |
How do you land on your feet when your whole universe has been taken away right from under you? [Embed For Use By Upgraded+] |
I just read your reply to the other comment on this. As someone who has also had their universe shattered, I don't have any advice. The way my spouse met their end was different. Still I understand the feeling. For me? I just wanted to tear the universe apart to get my husband back. For months I just hoped he'd walk through the door and it'd all be some stupid, ill conceived joke. My heart aches for you. I hope you can find some joy with your wife during these final years. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
