Murder. The murderer thinks Lanie Cole can crack the case, but how? And why her?

I have listened to some advice and updated my novel. I'd love some feedback on my updated work. Thank you, everyone.
So I could use some advice. I am trying to write a flashback scene for my novel. Basically a murder happens ten years before the main story takes place, now I need to show the murder, but I am struggling with how to fit it into the main body of the novel while making its clear its a flashback, but not interrupting the flow of the main story itself. Does anybody have any advice??
Hi! I am lacking a bit of context about what has happened in your novel so far, but maybe these ideas could be helpful: a dream/nightmare of one of the characters (if any has witnessed the murder), the publishing of a book/documentary of the case, a relative of the murdered person who has moved into town...
Hi everyone. I seem to be having some trouble with world building for my novel. I have some good ideas regarding my main plot points but I am having a hard time coming up with the world building aspect. Does anybody have any useful tips or tricks they use when they reach this aspect? I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance!
