| Along with all the amazing quarter-century celebrations kicking off today, this contest is running for September too:
September Prompts Prompt #1: Your character works at a soup kitchen. Prompt #2: Your character rescues a 'hater' from a situation. Prompt #3: Cougar |
| Goodness, that was a long slog - finally getting 500 reviews on the board. Hope the next 500 doesn't take 12 years like the first set did!!! I actually love reviewing but I have to be so in the zone (or under pressure from judging a contest that reviews its entries, ha ha ha). |

| And you are a great reviewer! |

Reply| Hello good people.... Can someone remind me of the contests that accept previously written (even awarded) items? My brain has failed me! |
| Well, it ends tomorrow for the round that allows old items but I have "The Weekly Quickie Contest" [18+] with an old item round going. |
| Question time!! If you could recommend only ONE book to others to read, what would it be? (I was thinking to myself this was easy and then I went.... oh no, it's not. I mean, X book of that genre, Y book of this genre. But.... what if you only had ONE option?????) |
| Kit - I admit I've never actually read this. Guess I'm afraid it might 'ruin' my version of it via the BBC's mini-series..... |
| Nutty Puppy Mummy Mwah-ha-ha - have never read any Marian Keyes but my mum has and likes them. Not read your other either but even the title makes it sound like it's a good one!! |
| May round of "The LGBT Writing Contest - closed" now open: May Prompts In honour of this 3-letter month, the prompts are also all 3-letters! Prompt #1: Web Prompt #2: Pin Prompt #3: Sun Woohoo: this round is part of

| Reminder that there's only 4 days to enter: "The LGBT Writing Contest - closed" So far, only one entry, and Charles's Cauldron 🎃 entered 22 days ago! An easy 2000GPs is coming his way if there are no other entries! |
| If you're intending to enter contests this month, don't forget that February is a short month! And if you're twiddling your thumbs, how about you enter "The LGBT Writing Contest - closed" ? These are the prompts.... February Prompts Prompt #1: Helping out at a soup kitchen Prompt #2: Working night shift in a book store Prompt #3: Champagne |
| Amused myself tonight by looking over the view counts for my writing; the top counts are all from between 2013-2016, so I guess time helps. Despite the topic of the top-viewed item maybe having something to do with it, I am still surprised it's top because... it's poetry and I am no poet! (The third highest item viewed is also poetry - in fact a sort of 'prequel' to the one below!)
Thrilled that my favourite short story is the most viewed piece of fiction.
Anyone else ever looked at counts? Some of the things I wrote around the time of those above are nowhere near 3 digits, not even if they've been contest entries. |
