“[...] he would see that birth and death were only two tremendous moments in an eternal waking, and his face would glow with amazement as he understood this; he would feel - gently he grasped the copper handle of the door - the warmth of the mountains, woods, rivers and valleys, would discover the hidden depths of human existence, would finally understand that the unbreakable ties that bound him to the world were not imprisoning chains and condemnation but a kind of clinging to an indestructible sense that he had a home; and he would discover the enormous joys of mutuality which embraced and animated everything: rain, wind, sun and snow, the flight of a bird, the taste of fruit, the scent of grass; and he would suspect that his anxieties and bitterness were merely cumbersome ballast required by the live roots of his past and the rising airship of his certain future, and, then - he started opening the door - he would finally know that our every moment is passed in a procession across dawns and day's-ends of the orbiting earth, across successive waves of winter and summer, threading the planets and the stars. Suitcase in hand, he stepped into the room and stood there blinking in the half-light.” ― László Krasznahorkai, The Melancholy of Resistance Good day people.
Hey, Hello, New post. Fresh out of the oven :))) https://www.writing.com/main/view_item/item_id/2348806-The-Call-of-Leh Take care!
Hey y'all. #foodforthought. Find your tribe, your stride. Turn creativity into cre-activity; parley with the medium that dares to call you. Do it for you. Let the ink bleed, let it bruise the page as black as the storm inside. Let deleterious thoughts choke on their last breath. Every demon you spit out dies a natural death, one ugly carcass at a time. No pussyfooting. Be brassy, be an iconoclast: renounce the molds; smash the altars. Be a Jungian, let the stream of consciousness crash the dam. It doesn’t have to rhyme. It doesn’t have to make sense. It just has to be spilled. You don’t have to be Pollock, you don’t have to be Frida, or Piaf, or Gaultier, or anyone you were told to be. Confess on anything, canoe your thoughts on walls, receipts, napkins, skin, pan, palette, dance floor, or fabric. Do it like no one is watching. Drop the blame; get in the frame. Naysayers are caught in their own mazes; their hands change, their faces change. Evict them. Don’t rent your headspace for free. One day at a time, until light flitters through a door left ajar. One day at a time. Permit yourself to be only human. Good Day!
True that! Barring constructive feedback (no malice intended kind). Take care, y'all. :)) “Recognizing that people's reactions don't belong to you is the only sane way to create. If people enjoy what you've created, terrific. If people ignore what you've created, too bad. If people misunderstand what you've created, don't sweat it. And what if people absolutely hate what you've created? What if people attack you with savage vitriol, and insult your intelligence, and malign your motives, and drag your good name through the mud? Just smile sweetly and suggest - as politely as you possibly can - that they go make their own f***ing art. Then stubbornly continue making yours.” ― Elizabeth Gilbert, Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear
Hey all! Just shared a new juxtaposition piece — would love to hear how it reads. Also, I’ve got to say, this is one of the few communities that feels genuinely inclusive and forgiving. In some spaces, people seem to wait for a chance to nitpick and tear things apart — but here, there’s room to grow, experiment, and just be. The only thing is that the review requests here usually get lost in the wilderness. Good Day! https://www.writing.com/main/view_item/item_id/2348115-The-Atlas-of-Soul
Hey lovely WDC, Hope your ink never stops flowing. On that note here's a new post. https://www.writing.com/main/view_item/item_id/2347696-Yester-Years Happy October!
“I saw my life branching out before me like the green fig tree in the story. From the tip of every branch, like a fat purple fig, a wonderful future beckoned and winked. One fig was a husband and a happy home and children, and another fig was a famous poet and another fig was a brilliant professor, and another fig was Ee Gee, the amazing editor, and another fig was Europe and Africa and South America, and another fig was Constantin and Socrates and Attila and a pack of other lovers with queer names and offbeat professions, and another fig was an Olympic lady crew champion, and beyond and above these figs were many more figs I couldn't quite make out. I saw myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn't make up my mind which of the figs I would choose. I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest, and, as I sat there, unable to decide, the figs began to wrinkle and go black, and, one by one, they plopped to the ground at my feet.” ― Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar (love her)
Hey, writing really is healing, and I’m so happy to have found kindred spirits here. Everyone I’ve crossed paths with has been so kind—Lilli even gifted me a year’s membership. How sweet is that Btw new post! https://www.writing.com/main/view_item/item_id/2347308-Don-Juan-of-Travel
| For no two places exhale the same perfume. I love the cadence and the poetic nature of this writing. Personally, I'm a field, an open spot embraced by the horizon. Any direction mine to choose. {bitem:2347308} =

Heya, I just want to express my gratitude to everyone who takes the time to leave such thoughtful, heartwarming, and constructive feedback. It acts as a beautiful reinforcement. It teaches what a proper review should look like. And for someone like me, working as a freelance writer, these reviews multiply my chances manyfold. So yes—thank you, truly

Hey all, is there a group for Mental Health Awareness? If so, please do let me know. I am keen, but I have still not figured out the whole join a group thing. Thanks!
So far, I cannot find mental health awareness groups on WDC, but I have found good help on YouTube for things I care about, including narcissistic abuse. His name is Jerry Wise. I find him to be encouraging as a rule.. https://www.youtube.com/@jerrywise Spiritually and in all other ways, Jesus is my best help. (John 14:6, KJV) I often share His encouragement and wisdom with my readers. I know that not everyone believes as I do, but I pray that something I've written here will be helpful to you.
Hey, added a new piece. Give it a read, and constructive feedback is always welcome! https://www.writing.com/main/view_item/item_id/2346561-Don-Juan-of-Travel P.S didn't know how else to share the link.
Welcome to WDC from the Bee Hive
I love to travel myself. You learn a lot when you go traveling. Looking forward to your adventures here on WDC! |
Is there a platform where one can get paid for writing? Just curious! Please let me know if such a thing exists. Thank you.
Here is a place to begin looking. https://writers.work/qualify I am needing the same thing. I am beginning my research to answer this question, too. I typed, "online writing jobs" into the Google search window. The link was one of my first suggestions from Google. Keep me informed of your success. Maybe we can both answer this question.
