Very true that is!
I love that song and grew up listening to it and many others on my transistor radio in Brooklyn. Many have become prophetic, over the decades. Like " In the year 2525" I think it's by Zanger and Evens. There's a line close to this " Nothing to think ,say or do. Some machines doing that for you.

With AI all over the place makes ya wonder.
Marvin Gaye was another who imagined the future and could see where we were heading. His song "What's Going On?"
Says so much or Stevie Wonder's" Living for the City"

I used to share them on Facebook but didn't get much feedback!
Nice to know others are on the same page 😜! 🎼🎶🎷🎹
Spirit~writer✍️🎼😸 Author Icon - Great song choices you highlighted there *Delight* Don't think I've heard that one by Zanger and Evens, so I'll check it out. The other two - yes. Prophetic and thought-provoking music all around from that era.

A Wee Lil' Reminder!

"Note: Hallo, Folks! It's that time again to he..."

Just a couple of days left, all ye lovely people!

And a big, ginormous THANK YOU to those who have already donated.

You're the bestest!

*Thought* Kiya's Weird Thought of the Day: *Thought*

Whenever I see a large crowd of people - like say at a concert or train station or beach...wherever - the first thought that usually goes through my head is:

"If all these people suddenly get an infection and turn into zombies...how will I escape in time?" *Confused*

Jeff  Author Icon
I definitely think through exit strategies pretty much wherever I am. Not for concerns about a zombie outbreak, per se, but more along the lines of, "if I max out my socialization meter in here, what's the quickest point of egress? Window... sure that'll do in a pinch." *Laugh*
A large group of people is called a "Nope".
Was at the food court in the mall today. All the folks can be a lil overwhelming sometimes. I think I'd turn into Bambi and freeze and just get bit. Good on you though. Constant vgiliance!

Kiya's Random Musing of the Day:

Why - in all these super hero movies - do these heroes cause so much collateral damage?

I mean you're supposed to be saving mankind or humans or whatever...can't you just take your fighting to an open country side or desert (or heck, outer space)?

Why do you have to end up destroying more buildings and probably killing more folks in the process???

In my younger days (hah!) this was all exciting, but now as I sit here and watch it today (*is currently watching Man of Steel by the way), I just want to go into the screen and shake some sense into these superheroes!

P.S: Stop tossing in the obligatory hero kisses girl in the middle of the darn war zone trope. It's getting boring!

.....rant over.

*Pthb*

This is one reason I can't watch movies. The BS details overwhelm the escapism. At least comedies are supposed to be absurd on a level. Same with TV sitcoms. Even dramas, when they get things right, are watchable because you feel an attachment to reality. But I just can't get into certain things that lose their tether to or completely disregard many realities. Not to mention the tropes...
That was the concept of Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice; as terrible as that film was (it was three films and 4 years of comics mashed into one film!!), Batman's issue was the collateral damage Superman's battle with Zod caused.

If they'd done 3 movies instead of one vomit, then that could easily have been examined a lot better than it was.

Just sayin'...

It was also part of the instigation for the Civil War in the comics, leading to Captain America being shot on the steps of the court-house and the superhero registration act, and a chunk of the heroes becoming vigilantes... and I think I am letting my comic reading self get carried away. Why, yes, I am over 50 years of age; why do you ask?
It's a good point. I wonder about Gotham sometimes. Between the supervillains, vigilantes and Batman, I wonder if they have insurance or just go with God when they head outside.

Oh my gosh! *Shock2*

Today is:

*Choco* WORLD CHOCOLATE DAY!!! *Choco*

Do you have any idea what this means????????

I honestly don't, but there are a few chocoholics wandering around these here Writing.com, so beware/warned! *Scared*

If memory serves me right, this was my first (or second) story I posted on Writing.com.

I remember how absolutely nervous/terrified/worried I was when hitting that 'submit' button.

My audience so far had been in the fanfiction community, but daring to step out of that box and to see if the 'general-public' would appreciate my writing...well the rest as they say is history.

So, thank you! Sung'manitu Author Icon for a trip back memory lane with this honor. To Grateful Jess Author Icon for the first awardicon it received, and to every single Writing.com member - some of who are no longer with us - who helped polish the rough edges of the initial draft, to what it's become today.

Signing up to be a part of Writing.com, twenty-years ago, is a decision I have yet to regret.

Thanks for reminding me of this WakeUpAndLive Author Icon with your excellent review.

As I sit here mulling over what to write while blaming the lack of inspiration on the heat,

a random thought just struck me...

I've actually been inside the world's tallest building!

*Shock*

Yep! This gal rode the elevator in the famous Burj Khalifa and let me tell you, if you've ever wanted to know what it feels like to ride in a space ship (or feel the loss of gravity for a few minutes) then that's the place for you!

Ah, fun times.

Anyhoo, happy Sunday, folks!

iKïyå§ama Author Icon - it was primarily for zero gravity training for astronauts. However, this non-astronaut got to go on one of those flights as part of a familiarization program.

Sung'manitu Author Icon - yeeeeeeeeeah, not for me. *Laugh* I barely managed going through the Burj without hurling my dinner. That flight experience would have left me or whoever was next to me, dealing with some unpleasant regurgitation. *Sick*
