Question- how do you support a spouse/partner when they lose their job?

Calmness. Listening. More calmness. Gentle, quiet encouragement.

That helped me when I lost mine unexpectedly. I hope it works for others.
Elycia Lee ☮ Easter! Author Icon - Thank you for the idea! I made a big pan of my Grandma's lasagna last night. From scratch bolognese sauce and all. It was absolutely delicious. Lots of hugs and kisses.
Jeffrey Meyer Author Icon - I am definitely working on it. My own anxiety and complex PTSD are screaming, but I am taking time to remember that everything always ends up okay.
Just in case you need a little good news these days, new post is up!

Kåre เลียม Enga Author Icon - Thank you for the note. Just couch surfing has been traumatic enough, and I cannot even imagine what it would be like to sleep on the street. I wouldn't even know how or where to go to avoid a dangerous situation.

The living situation I just left was only supposed to be for a few weeks, and she manipulated me into a longer term stay that turned into a nightmare, so I am very weary of staying with anyone for longer than a few days at a time unless it is with my partner. I don't trust most people anymore.

I will be hearing from an organization today that seems to have the most pull and resources here in LA for homeless people, so I am hoping for good news. My case worker told me that the DV shelters are far different than a regular shelter, and my fears will most likely be calmed.
I am hopeful it will be better than I have made it all out to be in my head.
Samantha Author Icon - That's good news. *Hearto* I have severe trust issues.
Samantha Author Icon - I hope you can get the support you need where you live!
