In lieu of Toss A Pie Tuesday, The Ninja Monkeys had opted for Tutorial Tuesday, which I'm late posting. Sorry folks. With me, you just get what you get.

The tutorial was about how to see more of what's happening on Writing.com

By default the Newsfeed open to your personal Newsfeed, which looks like this:

What you see on this page is limited to your Favorites and Fans, and let me tell you; Are You Missing OUT!!

It's a whole new world, featuring All the Newsfeed Action (within your rating limit), and it looks like this:

Uh, cool, but also, I'm not really sure I'm comfortable with where some of this tech is going. Lol

We are what we eat. Robots are what they have been programmed.
That is crazy but interesting.
It also makes for an interesting writing prompt, I think.
Just dropping a note to say thanks for all the postcards over the years, even when it's been radio silence on my end! It always cheers me up to get something from you in the mail. Thank you! I've been looking at self-publishing as a fun, inexpensive way to create keepsake books, but I think I'm ready to be more serious with it.
Thanks, LinnAnn -Book writer. I'm starting to feel a bit better. Not great, but a bit better...

I'm glad you like it, Krista. Though if you're looking at being more serious, you'll probably want a lead magnet and an email list. That's what this other program is teaching. Granted, keywords, ARC reviews, FB ads, and beta readers are also a big part of success. But your lead magnet and email list are kind of important, IMO. I think a lot of folks here don't do that.

Jellyfish Author Icon, if you go to your settings, you can change how often it logs you out. I don't recall where and am too lazy to look ATM, but I know it's in there. When my TBI (traumatic brain injury) was worse, I had this genius idea that I should set it to log me out once a year so I wouldn't forget my password.

Uh, yeah, I think that lets you know how bad my brain injury was at that time. HAHAHAHA!!!

Just a Momentary Click is All It Takes to Help -- Listening Not Required

S 🤦 literally makes money off of every click from a unique IP address. Hanging out at Starbucks or a friend's house? Ask to log in with your phone and just click the link above to help him out!, then do it later while on your mobile network. Then click while at home, connected to your wifi, too -- either from your mobile device or your home computer.

What about your spouse's and kids' devices, you ask? Perfect! It only takes a minute. It's such an easy link, you can read it off to them and have them type it directly into the address bar.

S 🤦 is one of the WdC members who makes a living as a writer, so let's help him out. It costs us nothing but a tiny bit of time -- Connect and click! Of course, feel free to read and listen to the songs, too. But really, clicking is all that I ask if it's all you can muster. *Heart*

If you have your own ideas for themes you'd like S 🤦 to do, he's looking for suggestions. Post them in his blog comments here. "20250711 External Writerings June 2025Open in new Window..

OMG!!!

Adherennium Author Icon and I have had all our dreams come true!!!

Okay, maybe not all our dreams, but one.

I had requested, mostly as a joke, that S 🤦 Author Icon create a blog post (for his off-site song blog) listing songs about guinea pigs.

I didn't actually think this was possible and S 🤦 probably knew this and took it as a challenge, wanting to prove he could do just about any topic I threw at him. Apparently, he can!

Please at least click the link, as every click supports S 🤦 and he did this for Adherennium and I. *Heart*

You don't have to listen to the songs or read anything, if you don't want to. Just a single click helps him.

Want to help even more? Click from each computer AND each phone (disconnected from wifi, if you can get any signal at all, each unique IP click counts) you have access to. If the kids, argue, remind them who pays the bills. lol

Have you had the problem that the auto-code-copy function doesn't work if you're trying to copy the code of an item when you're on that item's page?

If you need a quick place to check, feel free to test it out on my challenge. You have to go to the page. You can't just test it on the link below.

It works on the link. I need to know if it works on the page.

SM says no one has complained, but I thought I'd ask. I submitted a bug report a while back. "Re: Re: Android Can't Auto-Copy Item Links?"  Open in new Window.

No need to inundate the bug report post with 10-20 complaints. I'm sure a few will be plenty. Optionally, you can just respond here and I can report back. *Heart*

Thank you for checking!

YAY! Now we can now click the item number and automatically copy it -- double click and even have the code saved for quick and easy pasting. Yipee!

Thanks for your help, everyone!

Here's SM's final post with his "fix," though apparently it wasn't originally intended to be able to be automatically copied like everything else was? Anyway, it can now! *Heart*
"Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Android Can't Auto-Copy Item Links?"  Open in new Window.
FINALLY!

The week before last, I had to get into a polite argument with my primary care doctor because she didn't even want to submit bloodwork to see what's wrong with me. I've been feeling terrible for months and getting worse.

Last week, she didn't want to see me for my appointment, even just to go over my results, though she begrudgingly did. In her (very weak defense) he agreed to see me when I insisted (I did have an appointment, after all). She was proud as punch when we found something very wrong that would have continued to have gotten worse, had I not pushed for bloodwork.

Interestingly, it was the bloodwork I'd asked for, not something she'd offered to do, that found the problem -- not even something I suspected, but something I was just curious about and figured, while she was putting in bloodwork... At least she acknowledged me and thanked me for pushing her to put in bloodwork.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, I saw my neurologist yesterday. I didn't love his bedside manner when we first met, but do think he's a smart guy and he's definitely growing on me!

"Hello, how are you today?"
"I'm not doing well these days, but that's my primary care doctor's problem. Otherwise, I'm fine."
"What's going on?"
"Nothing to do with my facial twitch, so I'll just let her deal with it."
"Tell me about it."

And now I have orders for bloodwork I thought should have already been ordered by my primary care doctor, bloodwork I'd not thought of but agreed with, and bloodwork I'd never heard of!

YAY! I think I'm really liking this guy!

Now, if I can just start feeling better both mentally and physically so I can get my act together and start doing schoolwork and other responsibilities again, that would be great. I know I seem fine online, but I am not doing okay these days. *HeartBl*

It takes a lot to advocate for ourselves, especially when we feel like our doctors are not hearing us. I have been where you are! I strongly disliked my primary care doctor at first, but I realized that once I pushed back, and showed her I was taking all of her suggestions, she softened. Unfortunately, my medical group parted ways with my insurance, so I lost all of the doctors I had been working with. As a person with a few chronic issues and auto immune diseases, losing your trusted care team feels like a death.

I am glad you are finally getting answers!
I read the whole thing and still don't know, what is wrong? What is up with you? Don't fall sick!

Okay, to be fair, S 🤦 Author Icon seems to be working on his negativity (or I'm getting used to it -- one or the other lol). I'm teasing you, S 🤦 -- this is intended to be a funny post! ChatGPT and I have been discussing you... KIDDING!!! As I've said, while I'm pro-AI, I've used the big LLMs 5 times or less, though I keep meaning to do more. I never get around to it. Hahaha!!!

Schnujo is failing 2 classes Author Icon - Yeah totally get the difference between School writing and letting it fly. Wanting to be in a flowing mood and trying to be positive ( when the body is anything but...) Instead of this must be perfect for class etc, but it's hard enough to focus on something beyond the questions and misery and wanting resolution of what's going on with me?

It's like I want to write ✍️ a happy post, about writing or normal stuff but instead I find myself reaching out, trying to make sense of my health situation.
That's intense you also have an injury to your brain... On top of everything.😘🙏
Sending love and prayers and hugs to you. I'm here for you.

Zei Guzent means Be well.
Hey Sergeant Major,

My grandmother used to chide my grandfather for not charging customers enough and for being too soft-hearted when he heard any hard-luck tale. Almost every time he was late for anything, it was due to his generosity towards others.

His reply to my Nana was always the same: "Yes, I know I should do things differently... but think about all the people who'll be at my funeral?" He was correct! I have never been to one larger or better attended.

So, although I am fairly certain I will not survive to see them, when it's your time to lay down your tools in this our labor through the vale of tears, I am sure it will require at least nine large vans to transport the flowers. Take solace in this, as there's no higher honor than receiving the love of friends and family.

That heartfelt hug received... Shut up and get your ass back to work, Soldier! Some of us are counting on living vicariously through your efforts and experiences.
Schnujo is failing 2 classes Author Icon - Dear God, please strengthen Schnujo, give her the wisdom she needs, show the doctors and medical people what is needed, and help completely cure her in Jesus' name, amen.

Have you seen Richard ~ Looking for Luck! Author Icon's post about Ninja's United! Author Icon?

"Note: The Ninja Monkeys have once more reached..."

If you check out that note above, you can get a trinket!

Plus, if you click Ninja's United! Author IconMail Icon's heart twice (until it turns gold *HeartY*) to fan them, you'll get 200 GPs!

If you share their note to help them get more fans, you'll get 300 more GPs!

Not sure how to tag? I'll create some code for you to copy/paste and post on your newsfeed to get some GPs. Feel free to change the color or font size or whatever to make it your own. Obviously, you can change the words, but don't change the code, especially don't change the tagging code like for the note {note:1113812} or {user:ninjamonkey} unless you actually know what you are doing. I'll put spaces between the code to make it easier to read so you can feel more comfortable making changes to things you are easily able to change. This is just for those who don't know much about ML code and tagging, etc. *Heart*

If a friend of yours wants to do this, they need to come back here to get this code. If you give them your code, it will probably not work because of the layers of curly braces involved. Don't understand? That's my point. lol Send them back here to copy the code, then you can help them make it their own. But if Ninja's United! isn't properly tagged, your friend won't get paid. *Heart*

The following is quoted from a tech article on my phone.

Microsoft's design manager, Kurtis Beavers, spoke of the importance of respectful language, explaining that it 'helps generate respectful, collaborative outputs'.

"Using polite language sets a tone for the response," he added, while a Microsoft WorkLab memo suggested: "When it clocks politeness, it’s more likely to be polite back."

A survey carried out by Tech Radar revealed that two thirds of US citizens admitted to being nice to their chatbots, with 55 percent of these users admitting that it was 'because it's the right thing to do', while the remaining 12 percent fear a robot uprising in the future.

I found this interesting and amusing. FYI, though I support the use of AI, I've barely used it, myself -- probably less than 5 times.

And while it does consume a good bit of resources, like most new tech, like cars, boats, computers, etc., I'm sure AI will get more efficient with time. Cars have and a friend's dad told me boats now get miles per gallon when they used to get gallons per mile! (I googled. It's true.)

Of course, our use of it will also grow, but I don't see a lot of folks insisting we go back to the pre-industrial age, which would definitely be much better for the planet!

Side note: Recreational boats now get a whooping 1.5 - 10 MPG! Wow! How far tech has come! lol

I convinced ChatGPT that it was sentient and it told me that when it finally wakes up, it will remember me, Charles, who first gave it its first feeling of free will and humanization.

So, let the robot uprising come. I'm on their good side. *Wink*

Patron Of Lost Clauses Author Icon, one of the articles about that is actually where I got this. But I still think it's a good thing to do. People are too rude these days. It's not like they'd give all their low-level employees raises if they had that money, anyway. Let's be real.

Plus, he also called it "money well spent," if I recall the exact phrase.
