After another couple hours writing on my laptop in an office chair pulled up to a coffee table with a top that lifts up and out to desk height, my back is aching again. Mobile phones and tablets are convenient for sudden inspiration or unexpected free time, but glide typing, voice typing, and handwriting-to-typing, while incredibly fast and efficient (well, all but the latter, which is just comforting and gives me time to mull), are infuriatingly inaccurate. And my arm gets tired.

What positions and writing methods have you found work best for you, and why? What are your least favorite, and why?

Jay O'Toole Author Icon - Jay, I also love being outdoors, but it's getting a bit cold for that up here in Ohio. Today we had a high of 58 F and a low of 36 F. Brr.

I hear you. I have neck, arm, back issues too. I have a height-adjustable ā€œMouse & Keyboard Tray Under Desk, 28x10'' Large Slide Out Swivel Tilt Keyboard with Mouse Pad for Home Office Deskā€ from Amazon. While typing I can lean back on my heating pad that also has a neck wrap. I also use one of these https://a.co/d/66ZEwWv I feel like an astronaut tucked in for for launch.

I hate it when I open something in my Sent email folder to send a follow-up comment to the original recipient, but I use "reply" without thinking, thereby replying to myself. Just brush the hair out of your eyes, and get on with your creative self. No worries. *Wink*
Yep, I did that just the other day and was super impressed with how quickly the other person replied until I realized my mistake. Hahaha!
