My partner is going to be traveling for the holidays, so we exchanged Christmas gifts this morning. They loved all their gifts I got them (I got them a bunch of books), and I'm so happy about it \(>^<)/ They got me a matching necklace for a game we both love, a piece of clothing I've been wanting for years, and they made me a painting of all the things I love (A certain show, my fav animal, our shared favorite movie, etc) Happy Holidays everyone!! <(^v^)>
Tonight instead of being cued for board (for my school play), I'll be cueing everyone else (including myself). My manager got sick with some throat thing, so I'll be in charge (AHHHHH!). Very excited and nervous. I hope everything can go well <(-.-)> (She's not doing it, because she's on vocal rest) Cueing along with doing board means I'll be doing 3+ things 1. Cueing the spots right next to me for when they need to go on 2. Cueing myself for blackouts/light changes 3. Listening to the headset for my cue to go on after a blackout (cued by the stage manager!) 4. Paying attention to the show, to make sure I know where we are 5. Keeping everyone QUIET! The script reader has a hard job, and I appreciate her so much! \(-v-)/
Working on lights for the school play is very fun and very stressful. Actors don't seem to understand that when lights don't go up right away in rehearsal or when some random ones go on and off quickly, that we are fixing things to make sure the show is the best it can be. I can understand their annoyance, but they need to think of what others are working with. (Not about my stories, but this has been on my mind). No disses to actors of course, but my best friends are actors and I love their work.
