I am a Christian. This means that I am fairly limited in the decisions I make. Limited in the sense that I am guided by the Bible, which I believe to be the Word of God. Hence, it falls in line with your title: Line in the Sand.
Any choice we make in this world has a Catch 22 scenario. The only option we each have is to look at our own lives and draw the line in the sand where we feel comfortable with, regardless of the consequences. Will my choice or decision compromise my beliefs or will it fulfil my life's purpose on this earth?
In these days we have to make hard choices. Some say that it is what the Bible describes as the last days, and it certainly appears to be. Your excerpt describes a world such as this. The best way is to live our own life and help those in need as best we can.
