A short, vivid poem about an aging hipster finding an ancient tortoise and trying to communicate with the tortoise, who looks at the human with amusement, perhaps?
Love this poem, I like the various dreams you list. I like the red corvette line and the Paisley Park reference is that a reference to Prince by chance?
I like this Dansa poem that puts one's history into perspective we are all indeed just part of the everywhen and we are dead and gone we will in a sense live on in our descendents as they become us as we became our parents and grandparents or in my case Uncle and Grand Uncle and now a Great Uncle....
a nice take on the dansa form. I like the theme of the poem realizing that a women is one's fatal attraction and would be the death of me unless one walks away in time, but that is the dilemma poised by getting involved with such a fatal attraction in the first place! sometimes one just is bitten by the old love Jones and can't help one self.
hmm nice meta poem about writing the dansa poetic form. I like the wry humor in this poem I love the reference to time to eat some pie indeed i wish I could but being pre-diabetic at age 69 sadly, my pie and cake eating days are behind me.
nicely done poem about taxes and death. and how in the end when we are dead the tax man can't get us anymore but they can still go after our heirs and they do. except in those states that have enacted a ban on what the right calls "Death taxes" or what the rest of us call estate taxes. If they had their way, such taxes would be gone meaning that when someone like Elon Musk dies his heirs will inherit billions of dollars without paying a penny in taxes. That just seems wrong to me
god I wish that so easy. But the tax man always gets his due. So many famous people got tripped up by forgetting to do their taxes and the tax man came for them.
a great poem about the hobo life, the life of an someone always traveling, always moving on down the train track of life. You captured that spirit in this poem that is perhaps a tribute to Edgard Allen Poe or to hitchikers?
You nailed this French form with your short and sweet verse reminding us what is important in life is sharing life with one's friends and family enjoying every moment we have.
fantastic depiction of a romantic cafe in Paris and your friends waiting there for you. almost an erotic sense to this poem hinting at romantic liasons yet to come well done
I liked the long, almost stream of consciousness poem about reading Chekhov and the images and feelings it evokes in you, particularly the dark images it inspires. Most of the 19th-century Russian writers were masters of psychological insight into their characters and were also skilled at veiled social criticism. During the Soviet era and now in Russia, Russian Sci-Fi is quite good as that is one area where they can make social criticism that they can get away with.
great combo, Acrostic poem and alliteration poem, and a meta poem in a sense as well. Captures a bit of what TGIF means for many people in a wry, humorous manner.
A powerful use of the phrase Dream of Me discussing a man and his wife's shared life together and the dreams of their love life. As you know I dreamt of meeting my wife for eight years so this resonates with me
great poem about betrayals, and dreams shattered by reality and changes made and promises not kept. I would have made it a happy ending with him forgiving her and her telling him she had broken it off with her boyfriend and was ready to be with him.
Good use of the form to paint a picture of the advent of winter as the weather gets colder and snow is in the air. you nailed the intricate repetition pattern of the pantoun.
I liked this disaster poem almost reads like the promo for an end-of-the-world disaster movie as you covered them all -earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, and forest fires could have added winter blizzards and hurricanes to complete the diaster scenarios
a powerful and moving poem about the work of a quality assurance engineer working to make sure the product is meeting specifications like the gritty realism tone of this poem like the last stanza the best
aa great look at proofreading from the point of view of a proof reader detailing the many pet peeves the writer has when doing his or her job. I like the QED reference.
I liked this slice of life monochiele poem about getting ready to go to work and all that entails. wondering what you will end up doing once you have fought your way through traffic and ended up at work vivid description of the process of getting ready to go out the door.
a poignant write about the heartbreak of a broken heart and missing one's lover who is no longer among the living. I like the last line the best "But you are gone and unaware."
loved this poem about the passage of time and Spring following Winter inexorably I like the repetition and the flow of this poem these lines are particularly effective
Inexorably
seconds sand to hours. Nature's orchestra
plays Prelude to Spring
quintessentially
You nailed the Tanka form with this Tanka about a thunder storm very vivid images and sounds evoking nature's furious light show. I like the fourth line the best just perfect.
nicely done tribute to the old days when TV was in black and white. I remember those days, first got a color TV in 1970. saw the moon landing on a black and white TV. Brings back memories. Well done.
