I'm here because you made this wonderful Word Search puzzle and tagged me because you know I love doing these!
What Be in This Puzzle?
This Word Search has 25 names to uncover relating to Scottish towns. I just love town name puzzles. This of course has some interesting names. One that caught my attention because I wonder the meaning: "Knockando" I wonder what one does after knocking. I love how curious these names are to me. I'm sure there is great meaning in town names. We've got some weird ones here in New England. I love when people not from around here say a town name that is so far off. "Leicester" is one that they would inevitably call "Lie-chester." Actually, we call it "Lester." Talk about simplification! That's just one example.
Furthermore:
One has to stay alert when uncovering these names. Words that are not familiar to our ears take time to find. Possibly there are a couple similar word beginnings: "Kircudbright, Kirkintilloch. So, I look at the first 3 letters and the last 3 word endings to catch them easier.
Parting Thoughts:
This was a very interesting puzzle to solve. I love learning names that are not familiar to me. I love that I was picturing scenes from Scotland that I've seen on some shows. It sets a backdrop for me while solving the puzzle.
Oh, yes! I do enjoy the shenanigans put forth to remind me to stay upright while walking and climbing.
Falling Right In:
I'm with you! I get Vertigo, so am prone to dizziness. That can wreak havoc on walking upstairs or navigating hills that are everywhere where I live. Love this: "And may the standing up always be with you"
Scary words such as:
Head Over Heels Into The Abyss
So many others in this Word Search puzzle about things that involve falling. I'm a klutz anyway. I can manage to trip on a floorboard line.
Furthermore:
The puzzle was a fun solve. It was painful at times, though. There was a hidden trick to trip one up. That would be the repeat of one word, "pitch." You can't just pitch once, you have to shade over it twice to get rid of the pitch. I stood up to those pitches!
Parting Thoughts:
I have no falling out with the seriousness of this humorous puzzle. In fact, it seems to describe a day in my life when I'm in a rush to get something done and didn't notice the doorstop was sticking out just enough.
Conclusion:
I'm glad I finally got here. I just finished up my regular contest reviewing and was thrilled to have this saved for some "play" time.
I am reviewing your entry as a judge at "The Bard's Hall Contest" . Thank you for entering our May Picture Prompt contest.
Initial Thoughts:
I saw in your genres the predictable "Military" but what caught my eye was the addition of "Comedy." I am quite fond of finding some humor in a story. It also got my curiosity as to what made the story funny? I mean the soldier, the flags ... Then I found out. You know something? I loved the unique take on this prompt.
Furthermore:
I could picture you with the arm filled with trays of food and then the swinging door accident, decorating the higher rank's table, clothes and boots with breakfast including waffles soaked in butter and syrup!
Flag removal the day after Memorial Day was the punishment since one man would be working on that for days. I guess that'll stop another soldier from tossing open swinging doors without some sort of signal. Perhaps someone really should have a glass window placed there, finally.
Rules:
You wrote a story based on the photo prompt. Word count is given and in accordance to limit required.
Parting Thoughts:
I really enjoyed your unique take on the photo prompt. You actually made the soldier in the photo you as the character carrying out his punishment.
Conclusion:
I am reviewing your entry as a judge at "The Bard's Hall Contest" . Thank you for entering our May Photo Prompt contest.
Opening Thoughts:
This is quite a thorough essay filled with information relating to historical facts about Memorial Day, then and now.
Further Thoughts:
The photo shows a Veteran placing flags over the graves of deceased Veterans. Write a newly created story based on the image.
Word count was included as per the rules.
Observations:
"When Virginia succeededSeceded from the Union,"
Was it a story? I wondered if I was reading an encyclopedia page. Which makes it harder for the reader to connect to it being a story. I guess I wanted your own take on the photo in story form rather than just an information article.
Parting Thoughts:
There is some wonderful information about the Veteran's burial sites and Memorial Day. And I have learned some things I didn't know before. So, thank you for that.
I am reviewing your entry as a judge at "The Bard's Hall Contest" . Thank you for entering our May Photo Prompt contest.
My Thoughts:
I could picture the Veteran placing flags over the graves of deceased Veterans. It is quite a feeling seeing that. I know they place a flag over my father's grave each Memorial Day. My father is buried in a town cemetery, not a Veteran's burial ground. Thus, these flags are covered by some very devoted men in uniform because the graves aren't all in one specific area.
Furthermore:
This story had a haunting quality to it with the voice of his boss from the grave. He could feel his old boss's presence more so in his mind because he knew him well and knew what he would have said to him.
What I Would Like:
I think the reader doesn't get the Boss character's part in the story because there was just a statement saying he "cherished" him and he was a "dragon lover." It just needs at least a brief character development so the reader can feel the connection between the two men.
Parting Thoughts:
You followed the prompt telling a story from the photo provided of a man in uniform placing flags over Veteran's graves.
Word count is given as required.
Conclusion:
Well done. Just needs a bit more clarification of the characters as stated above.
I am reviewing your entry as a judge at "The Bard's Hall Contest" . Thank you for entering May's Photo Prompt contest.
First Impression:
Judge a book by its cover? I love the book-cover image! It welcomes the reader right into the entries.
Furthermore:
The other thing that caught my attention even before reading the entry is how concise the writing is. Sometimes brief hits home quicker than many unnecessary words. It's like a snapshot in the mind that gives the reader the whole picture instantly.
Additionally:
Such imagery indeed stuck in my mind. I could picture t he soldier placing flags over Veterans graves. He doubted his station in life. He wondered if he does service to their memory or if he should be in the Military ...was it worth it? He lost his Dad and lived the sadness of his mother's grief.
Parting Thoughts:
The arrival of a mother pushing her child in a stroller, giving him thanks for his honorable work. That answered all his doubts immediately.
Thank you for tagging me with the link to this Word Search Puzzle.
Jumping Right In:
This is a puzzle that highlights the fascinating world of the forest and animals and vegetation to be found there. It is indeed seeing the forest that hides within the trees.
Furthermore:
The puzzle consists of 25 words relating to the forest. Things like from Shelf Fungi to puma. Black Bear is another one must watch out for while hiking in the woods. I know we have them where I live in MA. But then, there are woods and plenty of watershed areas.
I enjoyed uncovering the words on the list. Most of them were a quick find. But then there was that last piece of the puzzle to uncover that was well hidden within the tile. Of course I should have tried to get that one out of the way first --"doe."
Parting Thoughts:
I loved the subject matter of this puzzle since I love exploring these beautiful backdrops that nature has to offer. And, taking photographs of course. Although Florida I am likely to find alligators to photograph.
I guess you got the idea for this subject matter on a recent Newsfeed post. Well, it's true sort of. I believe I declared my innocence of something.
"I could go on and on about this, but long story short - I'm a glutton for punishment." So states your brief description above the tile.
This was a very inclusive Word Search of the many words that would be used to go hand in hand with that which is considered without blame ...innocence.
Words such as: Above Reproach, Above Suspicion, Without Corruption. There is one group of words that catch my attention ..."Whistling Walk Away." Although in my case it would be Whistling and flying away! ...
Furthermore:
This puzzle has 25 words/group of words all relating to the state of innocence. It was a smooth solve for the most part. Words containing "without" I tried to catch right off the bat. In face I cleared row three fist. It was the mostly "W" row, I have an affinity for "W's."
Parting Thoughts:
I enjoyed playing this Word Search. I got a kick out of it because it was created after a few of us were funning around about being innocent on the Newsfeed. You amazingly put a swift them to action and come up with another puzzle to enjoy.
Conclusion:
I found this Word Search advertised on the Newsfeed.
Initial Thoughts:
The names of a few of these composers were real tongue twisters! The search once a few were uncovered made for a difficult find of several names here.
Further Thoughts:
This puzzle consisted of 17 words all having to do with Classical composers from Russia, the Russian Empire or the Soviet Union, as per the brief description. Indeed the inside description above the tile breaks down a couple composers who escaped after the Revolution, Rachmaninov, and Horowitz eventually made to the USA.
I like Classical music. Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker being one of my favorites. But then I imagine many enjoy that piece, especially around Christmastime.
Parting Thoughts:
This puzzle gave my brain a bit of exercise, for sure! But I like that.
I've been trying to get this puzzle done all day. Many interruptions along the way. Ah, real life!
13 Reasons to love this Word Search Puzzle... 1) My favorite number, 13

12) Movies
13) Tempting Fate ...Yeah, black cats, ladders, etc. But Jinx loves this day!
The Puzzle:
This words search has 20 words/titles/groups of Words to uncover from the tile. I went along at a smooth pace. The last word making me look harder was "Bad Luck." Of course it was a repeat word hiding in "Red Color Fixes Bad Luck." I had found that one right off the bat and by the time I got to the end of the puzzle, I forgot it was a repeat word and got slowed down.
Parting Thoughts:
I love how you ran with the Friday the 13th theme. And did it so quickly after I announced there's one coming up in June.
Conclusion:
Here's another older WS puzzle I found in your port.
Welcoming the New Year!
Oh the joys of ringing in a New Year with all the festivities and hopes and dreams of a lovely year ahead. I see the usual suspects, New Year's hits Hong Kong. Sydney and London. We watch on TV as different parts of the world already begin the next year that we here in the US await.
Furthermore:
This Word Search puzzle consists of 25 words/group of words relating to the New Year. Friends, family, resolutions! (Although I never make those promises.
The parties waiting for the clock to chime midnight, champagne in hand, midnight kisses and all the cheers and fireworks add to the special event.
Parting Thoughts:
This was a fun and festive puzzle to solve. My mind went right to all the wonderful celebrations though the years. Now, I am happy to order Chinese food to go and get off the roadways before the party goers are out and about.
Conclusion:
This ia an interesting Word Search puzzle based on French composers. Many names are familiar on this list. Classical music. I have a classical collection. Sweet listening indeed.
Recently I got into Satie. His piano music, avant garde and romantic at the time. I love Gnossiennes. It has a haunting quality to my ears. But then a witch's ears might be a bit over sensitive. Of course there's Gymnopedie. I just love listening to his works.
Further Thoughts:
This puzzle consisted of 20 words/names having to do with French composers. It was a moderately fast puzzle to solve. I enjoyed the chase all over the tile to uncover the treasure of composers.
Parting Thoughts:
Thank you for the interesting Word Search. I thoroughly enjoyed it. You made my brain stretch a little all the way back to music class in high school.
I found one of your older Word Search puzzles that I haven't played and reviewed yet, so here I am!
Beautiful Subject Matter:
The puzzle is based on Galatians 5:22-23, thus the words to uncover are all from this Biblical passage. Indeed, the Fruit of the Spirit is contained her.
The Puzzle:
This is a quick puzzle with only 11 words to uncover. However, I wisely looked for the shortest word I could find so I wouldn't be stuck at the end searching through bigger words to find this hidden one.
Parting Thoughts:
I have enjoyed uncovering such positive words of faith. I think "Patience" is the most difficult to adhere to. But I'm trying.
I popped in to get my positive thoughts for the day! I'm also here because you tagged me on the Newsfeed.
The Word Search:
There are 25 words or word groups that relate to thinking positively. I love this puzzle because I believe in positive thoughts and their ability to make each day better. Also, that adds to good health benefits.
I dislike being around negative people. It's like they want to bring others down in the dumps because they hate how they feel.
Further Thoughts:
Responding to people using words that can boost their spirit and even make them smile pays it forward as it touches their minds and hearts.
The puzzle was a smooth solve. I guess those positive words just jumped out at me. "Amazing" was the first word I saw. I thought, "me? I'm amazing?" Of course my mind was telling me that. I guess it's good to feel so good about oneself.
Observation:
Magnificient ...Magnificent There's an extra "i" that doesn't belong there... A little typo you may want to fix.
Parting Thoughts:
This is another amazing puzzle on keeping positive thoughts each day. It always makes one feel better than hanging on to the negative.
Conclusion:
Excellent! Thanks for this dose of good vibes for the day!
Oh, I do love a good Mac & Cheese! I don't like Velveteeta Cheese, though. I make my own cheese sauce with various other cheeseses I have in the fridge. It can be quite interesting.
I love that you include veggies and other items into the dish. It does add to the hardiness of the Mac & Cheese. I must say that I have never put ketchup over it, though. I doubt I will start at any rate.
Sometimes, this New Englander, will add lobster to the dish. It is well loved here at the Witch's House!
In Conclusion:
I saw this highlighted on the side of the page under "Recent Items." It made me hungry for Mac & Cheese. I guess I'll make some this weekend when the "kids" come over.
Thank you for creating another Word Search puzzle. I enjoyed the very first one you made. Thiss one was no disappointment.
Jumping Right In:
This puzzle was all about different animals to uncover on the tile. Interesting choices made it not too easy a puzzle to solve. I attribute that to the short words such as: dog, fish, cat, rat, to name a few. Those little words tend to wrap themselves within other words that contain their names within an already solved longer animal. Starfish, then move on and find out you need to shadow over half that word to find the individual "fish."
Further Animalations:
However, I so enjoyed playing this puzzle. I have learned when I can't find a smaller word to explore another longer word where it could hide in. Not to mention "starfish" was hiding a rat! That one took some looking!
Parting Thoughts:
This is a fun puzzle to play. I love a challenge with clever words that hide other smaller words within. So, thanks for the brain teasers!
Conclusion:
Good job! You are good at these things. I hope you enjoy making them ... and tagging me of course!
Thank you for tagging me with my Newsfeed when I lost the link to your WS Puzzle.
Great Intro Message:
Wow, I just love your introduction where you let readers know about your inner connection to Elsa's character. You really shared some of yourself with us. Thank you for that.
The Puzzle:
This was fun puzzle to solve. The 25 words/names all deal with Disney's "Frozen." Some memorable scenes pop up in my mind's eye. "Eternal Winter" Good thing I spend winter in Florida. You've brought this movie to life with each name uncovered.
This is a medium level difficulty puzzle due to a few short words that seem to hide a lot longer.
Parting Thoughts:
Wonderful Introduction. Excellent puzzle. Thank you for creating it and tagging me to the link. I have enjoyed myself.
Oh boy, I so enjoyed watching these movies vicariously through your Movies Galor Word Search puzzle!
You have so many older and newer modern classics to uncover. I guess we both agree on the original Star Wars.
Going Out To The Lobby:
"When Harry Met Sally" Such a fun movie. Such a hilarious restaurant scene.
Loved "The Blue And The Gray" TV series. Patrick Swazi was such a hunk. Died too young.
And many more picks you have listed to uncover: Ben Hur, Jurassic Park, Superman ...
Parting Thoughts:
I appreciate the themes you create for your WS puzzles. They are fun to play and quite relaxing. Hey, when someone can re-watch a film in their heads while playing, all the better!
Conclusion:
Another very good WS puzzle. Thank you for tagging me with the link.
Thank you for creating this Word Search puzzle, and tagging me to the link.
Initial Thoughts:
This is great subject matter for a WS puzzle. I had to stretch my brain a little going back to Biology lab decades ago. I guess it's good I didn't decide on being a doctor, because I'm fairly rusty. Also, I dislike working with mice! I did dissect a frog in high school. However, somehow I misplaced the spleen when trying to place all the parts on a poster board as part of a final exam credit. I looked up frog parts in an encyclopedia and it looked kind of dark greenish black, in my opinion. I got some dark forest green construction paper, rolled the piece up like the shape in the photo, made a Papier mâché-like reproduction and glued it on the board. It looked fine to me! Anyway, I managed to graduate from high school.
Further Thoughts:
This puzzle consisted of 25 words all having to do with the subject of biology. Many are remembered from my old lab days. Then my mind reminisced back there briefly.
Thank you for opening up the rate/review option. I see you state in your brief description that this is your first Word Search! Wow, you did a fabulous jobs. Perhaps there will be more in the WDC horizon? You know where to find me!
Well, thank you so much for creating another interesting music related Word Search puzzle and music video to go along with it.
This one of course is based on the Stevie Wonder song "You are the Sunshine of My Life." It was a sort of quick and smooth puzzle to solve. I say almost, because it didn't clear the tile when I was finished.
I know this has happened before. But it never ceases to amaze me that it somehow happens with your puzzles. All the words are crossed out, yet the tile won't turn green.
Parting Thoughts:
I'm sure it's an easy fix... Wait a minute! I just thought of what you mentioned last time this happened. It could be a repeated word, and it was!!! The "heart" was repeated, so I actually just shadowed over the word again and it did turn green.
Phew, glad that's solved!
Conclusion:
Another fun and relaxing ... mostly easy puzzle to solve adding to a great fun time!
What an exciting time for you. Hey, enjoy your celebration of birth and all that you've accomplished in those years. Remember, 59 is the new 49!
Celebrating On:
Wow, your list of words really tells a story about you. Your crafts, and writing, your love for history and preferred TV shows, being documentaries. You have kept yourself quite busy. Grandchildren are such a blessing. Also, you show your spiritual side and striving to walk in the light. Beautiful!
This Word Search puzzle had 25 words or group of words to uncover on the tile. I must say it almost took me 59 years to finish it!
The word mother could have been hidden within grandmother, but that didn't work. Finally, I found it standing alone, there for anyone to find quickly. Of course It's laundry day and I've been in and out of the laundry area washing, drying and starting another wash ... Lots of stuff to wash after a long trip.
Parting Thoughts:
I think this was a wonderful tribute to your upcoming birthday. Great subject matter that is biographical. Thank you for tagging me. I'm happy I haven't broken through your port's storage space ... yet!
Conclusion:
I bet you can't imagine what brought me here.
Storm Trooping On In:
This is indeed created for the love of all things Star Wars. I felt the Fourth within me. All the familiar names we've come to know over the years. Like you, I enjoyed the earlier movies. The last one I saw was in 2017. When I see Princess Leia, I think of the original Carrie Fisher. Hard to believe she died over eight years ago.
There are 25 words to uncover on the tile. It went along pretty fast. It was a fun and smooth play. I could picture the characters as I was playing. Ah, so many memories!
Parting Thoughts:
Thank you for tagging me to this link. I was just getting done with some contest reviewing when I needed a brain switch over to some relaxing items to review. Of course, you know that these word searches do amuse and relax me when needing a break from lots of busy work.
Conclusion:
Great job!
Until next time--Puzzle on! (If you don't run out of room first! )
I am reviewing your entry as a judge at "The Bard's Hall Contest" . Thank you for entering our April,Dr. Pepper Peeps, Children's Story.
Life as an Ad Man:
I saw the hustle and bustle of an ad agency at work to promote the next big product success. Loved this little Ad slogan, "make Coke weep."
The reader gets the hustle and bustle behind the scenes with Jerry imagining the greatness of his new campaign to make Dr. Pepper Peeps loved throughout social media and starring in memes to further its popularity.
Suggestions:
I have to tell you, your formatting is all over the place. The font size is rather small in spots. The ML formatting is left hanging. The brackets not closed, or extra space within makes for a more difficult read due to its distraction from the story. It's always wise to do another edit of an entry before the end of the contest. You had five days to catch some of these issues.
Were The Rules Followed?
It's a story, and Dr. Pepper Peeps was mentioned. Word count given and within the limit required by the rules. But is it really a children's story? Seems more emphasis is on adults in the Ad business. It's mostly about Jerry, the 45 year old, hardly a kid. The kid at the end with the rotted teeth, just doesn't do it.
Parting Thoughts:
It was quite the story filled with its own charm and humor. However, it doesn't appear to be a Children's story in accordance with the prompt and rules.
Conclusion:
So, Jerry hates Dr. Pepper Peeps, eh?!! Wonderful! The story itself is a good one. More attention is needed on the formatting for the ease of reading, as mentioned above.
I am reviewing your entry as a judge at "The Bard's Hall Contest" . Thank you for entering our April Dr. Pepper Peeps, Children's story.
First Impression:
Monica is the child who is in Foster care. Here foster parents are trying desperately to get her to trust in them.
Further Thoughts:
There were such warm moments woven into the story. Once Dan and Reema figured out a way to help her enjoy the fun things in life, such as going to a carnival. It was so sweet of Dan to take her there alone, just like a dad and daughter day out. He got her to bond with him as her future father when the adoption would happen. Monica had so many trust issues to conquer because of her abusive mother, it was difficult to let go and be happy with new parents.
Observations:
"Being six years old was hard."
A Six year old would most likely not be using these responses: "Yeah, sure." "Might as well." That would be more like an eight-nine year old.
okay would work better with a six year-old's vocabulary.
"Isn't it too expensive?" I doubt a child that young would say that.
Rules Followed?
Children's story.
Dr. Pepper Peeps mentioned.
Word count given and within the limit.
Parting Thoughts:
I absolutely loved that Monica spat out those gross Dr. Pepper Peeps.
That was a cute pet-name her new dad gave to her, "Peppa."
