A fun poem. Contest entry to The Humorous Poetry Contest.

It was thirty below and I needed the heat!
To idle the vehicle I sat in the seat.
I reached for my keys, but they were not there.
Only seconds since I had them, but now where?
For over an hour I was holding them firm,
While shopping and talking without a concern.
So now there I am in the freezing cold,
searching, and feeling quite controlled!
The keys so elusive, my mind was a daze,
Trying to re-think my steps, like a maze.
And then a memory just jumped in my head,
I’d thrown them down in a bag, with the bread!
Wiser I am now, not wanting to walk,
I’ll use my pocket if I’m stopping to talk.
