A castle on the ocean floor.
By force of wind and sordid tide.
A sandy escapade, her moor,
Where miracles of life can hide.
No more to speak of her sullen plank;
For no man likened to the day
Would wish a mighty ship so sank
In forfeit for the price they pay.
An ageless time when hopes dispersed
To dreaded rocks upon the shore
And fallows dredged. The giant hearse
Would come to rest and breathe no more.
Her beauty once renewed men’s faith.
A wreak, they claim, in shallow tide.
Riches sought and God’s wonder scathed.
Now earthen lust will be their bride.
The light is there upon her heart.
A salty mist within her walls.
Ne’er once did her strength depart.
An ageless beauty never falls.
