The Eagle Parrot Crew have hit the high seas but need better communication. Winner! |
The wind filled the sails of The Eagle Parrot as it cut through the open sea, finally free of the cursed docks. The crew...new and old; had settled into their roles, but not without a few....adjustments. Elara stood on the deck, arms crossed as she watched Darius attempting to teach Lyle how to properly read the shipâs navigation charts. Lyle, despite his confidence, had spent the past hour flipping the map upside down and squinting at it like it was some ancient riddle. âThis doesnât make sense,â Lyle muttered. âWhy do we need degrees and knots? Canât we just go that way?â He jabbed a finger at the horizon. Darius groaned, rubbing his temples. âBecause thatâs how we donât end up stranded in the middle of nowhere, genius.â He tapped the map. âYou said you were a navigator.â âI am...just not the kind that gets hung up on numbers.â Elara smirked. âYou mean the kind that guesses.â Lyle scoffed. âItâs intuition.â Darius rolled his eyes. âYeah? Well, your âintuitionâ nearly had us sailing straight into a reef this morning.â Lyle waved a hand dismissively. âThat was just a miscalculation.â âA miscalculation that wouldâve sunk the ship,â Elara added. Darius exhaled sharply, closing the map. âAlright, weâre going to try this again.â He turned to the rest of the crew, raising his voice. âEveryone, listen up! Since half of you are new and apparently canât tell port from starboard, we have a test tomorrow.â A collective groan rose from the crew. âA test?â Lyle scoffed. âWhat is this, a school?â Darius grinned. âNo, but if you fail, youâll be swimming back to shore.â Elara smirked, watching as the crew grumbled and got back to work. Tomorrow was going to be interesting.
