The surface shines what’s hidden—
the surface shines; it is just
your gaze, or mine, inventing
echoes of accusation.

Perhaps today isn’t the day.
Let some more time pass; I look
for you—and may fail, because:

the surface shines—
i don’t know
what’s inside…
