Arriving in his little red corvette,
Prince struts from the thin metal security
Keeping him safe from the throng of fans.
Draped in diamonds and pearls, he waves,
And blows a kiss to someone special.
He'll conquer the stage with talent galore,
And leave the audience wanting more.
With amazing charm and sensuality,
He strums his guitar and lifts his voice.
With the thunder of applause, he
Exits the stage with a nod and a thank you.
Tired and hurting from such a long tour,
Prince sadly over-medicates himself.
And in the pouring purple rain The morning papers are released.
The black and white pages tell of his death.
On quiet nights when doves cry their call,
We'll always think back and remember Prince
fondly as one of the beautiful ones.
