Stone By Stone

Life made me build walls all around me

I have built walls you cannot see, because they are deep inside of me.
They block my heart on every side and help keep all my emotions on the inside.
You can't reach in, I can't reach out, you keep wondering what that's all about.
The walls I built that you cannot see, are results of my insecurity.
Each time my broken heart was hurt, the scars within grew worse and worse.
So, stone by stone, I built these walls, that's now so thick they will not fall.
Please understand that it's not you, be patient with me while you try to break through.
I want so much to show myself, and love from you would really help,
So, bit by bit, chip at my wall, till stone by stone it starts to fall.
I know the process will be slow, because it's never easy to let go.
Hurts and failures have been engraved, upon my heart from years of pain.
I'm so afraid, to let you in, because I know I might get hurt once again.
I try so hard to break down the walls, but it seems, I get nowhere at all.
For stone upon stone I've stacked, I've left between them, not a crack.
The only way to make them fall, are imperfections in the walls.
I did the best I could, to build the perfect walls, but still I made a few flaws.
So, there's the key, start breaking through the walls.
Please use each flaw, to cause a crack, to knock a stone off of a stack.
For just as stone by stone was laid, With every hurt and every pain,
Stone by stone, the wall will break, as love replaces every heartache.
Please be the one, who cares enough to find the flaws.
No matter what happens, PLEASE GIVE IT YOUR ALL.
