For Allan.

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”Galatians 5:1 (KJV)

He is not my son; he is Your son,
who had found You and known You,
known grace and known damnation.
He has felt the balm of wisdom;
He has breathed the smokes folly,
Pushed the stabs of ecstacy,
Rolled the dice with the dead.

He walks a strait road now,
beset on the left by needle-sharp chains,
blesséd on the right in the Refuge of Christ.
His road narrows as it lengthens.
He sways; I watch and pray:

He is not my son, he is Your son.
It is not my will, it is Your will.
It is not my life, it is his life.
Show the grace of light; erase the threat of bonds!
Let it not be my will, let it not be his will;
Let it be Your will.

Let it be Your will.
