A Day to Remember Freedom’s Own

A Memorial Day poem for our heroes who sacrificed so much - a poem of remembrance.

A remarkable patriotism
And superior valor -

Towards entrusted and glorious team efforts;

To emerge victorious amid
Barbaric struggles…

In wartime during tours of duty,
In distant theaters -
Including some of the most epic battles
During global and regional conflicts
Of historic and political significance.

For this inveterate and gifted planet
And stellar nation,
This Memorial Day…

In thankful and gritty construction
Of America’s freedom, liberty,
And prosperous principles…

Entirely ensconced
In the nation’s
Unwavering spirit -
An awesome convergence
Of geared
And faithful alliance
To remember
The immense contributions
Of our unforgettable warriors…

Well-trained, incredible troops and fighters
Who perished during wartime engagements
And operations of strategic military calculation;

A lifetime of service
Bestowing Americans with their blithe freedoms
And a cognizant awareness
Of the grace and mercy of democracy,

Per the construction,
Protection, and conditions
Prescribed by our Constitution,
And screamed forth in the undying principles
Of legal and moral and epic understanding -
And prescriptive precedents -
Of those armed forces service persons
Who made the ultimate sacrifice -

In historic opposition
Battling the calculations
Of those vile enemy nations
And groups,
Standing against our individual liberties
And rights;

America’s warriors fighting back
And defending our shores
With their awesome acts
Of courage,
Unbelievable determination,
And swift and sweet ratification
Of our legal system,
Our international authority,
And our dream-like existence
And way of life.
