Another old creative writing paper I did! Different from my usual. !!

“Should future robots be built if they might take away jobs?”
No. Absolutely not.

Robot’s (or A.I) would be a great downfall to society, job wise and even life wise, why? Yes, robots could be far more intelligent than humans, but society would not be “complete”. As Stephen Hawking once said; “Humans, limited by slow biological evolution, couldn’t compete and would be suspended by A.I” -2014 BBC Interview.

I agree, humans could never compete with A.I by milestones to a certain extent, they could exceed in ways we couldn’t even dream of. Robots are sent into space by NASA to live a quiet, empty life, gaining and observing something people could only dream of experiencing face to face, something we could never get close to touching, not for billions or even trillions of years. Robots are sent into the ocean because their lensed eyes can view something we could not. Robots could complete jobs faster, more efficiently than any living being could. Robots could endure certain situations better than a human. Retail and delivery companies have explored using robots and drones to sort or deliver packages for years -CNN Business. Robots could run a business with no issue, physically.

But the thing A.I lacks is creativity, it lacks the genuine function of the human mind. It lacks empathy, a genuine social life. A.I could not steal the occupation of an artist because it does not have the awareness how to. A.I could never replace something as impactful as art. A.I “art” is just art stripped away from other creators without their knowledge, creating something bland, overused, even lifeless. Have you seen the Mona Lisa? A painting that has been known and loved for years, a piece only a human could create, only a human could put their mind, soul, and creative ability into something like that. Art is creative, something with meaning and passion. A.I “art” is not creative, it ha sno meaning other than the meaning of stealing others' work to create something with no effort put into it.

Think about college as well, would there be a point of learning a certain path just for that passion to be taken by something lifeless? What point would there be if a robot took your career, your passion, your fulfillment.

A.I articles are no articles, but words thrown together form different written pieces made by a person who took the time and effort to research and grasp an understanding of something, where is the knowledge in that? Nowhere, exactly.

Could a robot make impactful and heartfelt music? No, I ask you to listen to an artist named Adrianne Lenker. Could A.I make beautiful and heart tearing music like hers? As meaningful? Hell, every musical artist out there is unique and impactful; Emotion, vibe, beat, story or a message. A.I could never be on the same level as humans, emotionally.

Can A.I connect with people on an emotional level? Could A.I understand a person's feelings? No. Yes, robots could try to imitate a human, but they cannot contain the empathy one holds. The generosity one can carry would never be reached by something made of wires and code. In a work office, robots could have a genuine and heartfelt conversation, robots could never have a serious conversation the way people can. Robots could never achieve the social level we are on, or grasp an understanding of social cues. We could be observed for years, but A.I will never be able to achieve the warmth in a person's voice.

Think of your job. Would you appreciate a robot taking over your passion? What about your salary? The money you make. Please imagine yourself in a position where a robot takes over the job you love and enjoy; what would you do with yourself? Where would your fulfillment be? If you cannot enjoy what you do, where is the point of enjoyment itself? Is there meaning if you cannot do what you wanted to pursue, is there a purpose if you cannot strive to your goal in your career?

A.I couldn’t take away jobs because they take away from the true purpose of a career.
