“I lost my phone.” Danielle said nonchalant. Tess stared at her for a moment, then said, “Where was the last place you left it.” Danielle looked up as if searching for an answer. She then shrugged and looked at Tess. “Timbuktu.” Tess scoffed and then said; “Nice. Leave it there. You don’t seem bothered that its lost.” “It will show up eventually,” Danielle said. “Then why mention it,” Tess said a little annoyed. “Because I still need the phone. I’m waiting for Carl to call me.” “Oh, how did the date go?” Tess was suddenly interested. “Eh, it was a date. It sucked.” “Then why are you waiting for his call?” Tess asked feeling exasperated. “Because I am bored and want to argue with him.” “So, you do like him.” Tess said with a smile. “Maybe… Can you help?” “Here, let me call it,” Tess offered as she pulled out her phone. Danielle said, “Forget it. It’s dead.” Tess sighed as her patience began to run thin. Danille chuckled, amused by Tess’s annoyance. They searched the house from top to bottom and nothing. “It may be under my bed,” Danielle said, “I had fallen earlier and then the phone disappeared.” “You are unbelievable,” Tess said, exasperated. Both girls began to look under the bed. “Hold on, let me get a flashlight,” Danielle said. Tess was ready to scream. “Oh my Gosh! Danielle! You are incorrigible!” Tess cried out in anger, as she pointed at the flashlight in Danielle’s hand. “Some fancy flashlight you got there! It looks just like your missing phone!” “Oh! My phone!” Danielle said, “I must have put it in my pocket.” Tess walked away, mumbling in annoyance. “I guess the phone was never dead. Or lost! Thanks!” Danielle laughed, “By the way, Carl just text!” WC: 299 |
