A heartfelt poem of love that lasts a lifetime—and beyond, into eternity.

They walked along the old clay road,
Eyes fixed on the path ahead—
Their hands, intertwined.
Now and then, they gazed
Into each other’s eyes and smiled.
No words were needed;
I love you was spoken in silence.

The sun began its slow descent,
Yielding the sky to the waiting moon.
They paused in the middle of the road,
Carefree, unburdened by time.
The crickets sang,
And their melody filled the evening air.

In perfect sync,
The couple lifted their eyes to heaven,
Bathed in awe,
Savoring the splendor above.
They drank in its beauty,
Sealed the moment
Into heart and memory—forever.

He twirled his bride with gentle pride,
Pulled her close,
And kissed her soft, pink lips.
The scent of fresh rain rose around them
As they ran, hand in hand,
Laughing,
Letting the rain drench them
From head to toe.

Years passed.
Youth faded into memory.
Now he lies old and frail,
His dimming eyes fixed on the light,
Where his mother waits
To guide him to streets of gold.
His wife sits at his side,
Still holding his hand—
Unwilling to let go,
Yet ready.

A single tear falls.
She leans in,
Kisses him once more.

Now it is her time.
She smiles at her beloved
As he stands waiting
To walk with her
On those same golden streets.
She whispers, “I love you,”
As she breathes her last.

Once old and frail,
Now young again.
Together once more—
Hands intertwined.
