Sunflowers

A poem for kids. It's about sunflowers, strangely enough.

Sunflowers

Sunflower shines just like the sun,
Opens its face for everyone,
Smiles on the day, watches us play,
Rises above the warmth of the day.

Holds up its head, touches the sky,
Waves at the breeze as it wanders by,
Laughs at the birds coloured so bright,
Teaches its seeds to grow up just right.

Gathers with friends in flower farms,
All of them green, and yellow their charms,
See them like this and you’ll understand,
Kansas chose them as best in their land.
