Mari and Lional are vacationing, looking for a tour to take. 300 words |
Mystery Tour “I just love to take tours. No planning or trouble on our parts!” Mari said excitedly. “So, which do you want to take?” asked Lionel. “What do you mean?” He pointed at a sign. There was a drawing of a bus at the top of it. Below it was a picture of a boat. “How so we get to either one?” Lionel scratched his balding head then put his ball cap back on. “Maybe we can ask someone.” But there was no one around to ask. “Well, there was no dock or terminal the direction we came from, so let’s go forward,” his wife said. They walked and walked. Finally, a sign appeared with a bus shape on it. They both sat down on the bench beside it. “I wonder how long the bus takes to come?” Mari shrugged. So, they waited more. Just when they were about to give up, an open-air contraption stopped. It was a sorry excuse for any bus they had ever seen! But wanting to get on with the excursion, they got on and paid. “That was exorbitant!” Lionel complained under his breath. Mari ignored him. They had only been on the bus for about ten minutes, when it began to puff and putt down a ramp. The vehicle was so packed, neither of them could see ahead. When it got suddenly dark, the pair looked at each other. Passengers began to file out of the bus, so Mari and Lionel did too. They found seats at the sides of what turned out to be a ferry. “I think I get it now, it’s a bus-boat combo tour. Interesting concept!” Lionel was looking green. Mari checked her purse. No Dramamine! Handing him a ginger candy, she hoped for the best. It didn’t work! |
