Perceptions

An image of an image
scewed by perception,
by the whom who is seeing.
Refraction or merely
reflection equally transmuted
by the viewer.
Add to the confusion:
image and identity

are not the same
unless according to the holder
they are.
Which is not necessarily true
for the beholder.
How one sees themself
isn't even accurately portrayed
within the confines of the mirrored one.

That image looking back
may or may not be an accurate
picture or image.
Upon reflection,
can one ever say they know for certain?
