a true live medical mysterious parasite illness almost killed me

I went to the doctor as my bones ached.


The doctors said
that I had broken my heel bone

And needed immediate surgery
And would be unable to bear weight
On my foot for five months

And so began
My nine month voyage
Through the American medical nightmare

I developed a MDR staph infection
Because the Airforce doctors
Wanted to try experimental treatment
Replacing my heel with shark cartridge

Unfortunately for me the staph infection
Spread behind the shark cartridge
Came back almost killed me

14 opperations later
The internal medicine doctor
Said I had something else
Going on

A rare parasite
I picked up in Thailand
It is inert..

But if you ever take steroids
It will blow up to the size
Of a medicine ball
And kill you in 30 minutes.

And you will die
A medical mystery.

I took the medicine
But said to myself.

Man,

He's out of his mind. I'll never go back again.
